This week we had many opportunities to spend time with neighbors and let Gods love shine practically through us. We also had many unplanned Conversations and Moments with neighbors which are sometimes the best moments!! Leave a little bit time in your day for those spontaneous moments so that you don’t have to miss them because of a lack of time!

Jen and I also had personally a great week and a refreshing weekend!

Don’t forget to let God show you your true identity, by spending time with him and studying his word, in more and more ways!

Diese Woche hatten wir wieder viele Möglichkeiten mit Nachbarn Zeit zu verbringen und diese Liebe Gottes praktisch durch unser Leben zu zeigen. Die ungeplanten Gespräche und Momente mit Nachbarn sind oftmals die besten Momente! Lass auch ein wenig Zeit in deinem Tages Plan das du diese spontanen Momente nicht verpassen musst wegen Zeitmangels!!

Jen und ich hatten auch wieder sonst eine super Woche auch unsere Wochenendzeit war wieder erfrischend!

Vergiss diese Woche auch nicht Gott zu bitten dir deine wahre Identität mehr und mehr  zu zeigen indem du Zeit mit ihm verbringst und die Bibel studierst!

[:en]I don’t know if you ever felt that way, but sometimes God encourages you through the songs you sing in worship. Recently our worship team at church played the old song Great is thy faithfulness. While singing that song God showed me a in a deeper way his faithfulness in my life. It’s amazing how God can use a song.

When I looked up the poem the song is based on, I found out that it was written in 1923 by Thomas Chisolm. Thomas grew up very poor with bad health and basic education. But then, later on, he became a teacher and later a minister which he both had to stop because of his health. But in all of those circumstances, he wrote about Gods faithfulness. He did not base it on what the world could give him but solely based it on God himself.

1923 is just a few years before the great depression hit the world. I wonder how many people felt encouraged through that time to keep their focus on Gods faithfulness and not the one the world can provide by just reading that poem. I bet many people read those lines and put there trust back into God.

Later on, the song was played at big crusades of Billy Graham were thousands of people would give there life to Jesus. And now in the year, 2019 God encourages me through this song.

I’m sure that Thomas didn’t think his little poem would turn someday in a song and then would impact many people all over the place. He probably just wrote a poem to be encouraged and reminded about Gods faithfulness even in hard times. But God used it way bigger then he could ever imagine.

We want to encourage you with that song and story that God is also faithful in your life. Make sure to remind yourself daily about that. Also, step into the things He has for you and be faithful in them. You never know if there will be a song or something else that he puts on your heart that will encourage or bring change to people almost 100 years later.

We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating Easter last weekend!! He is risen!! We love this time of the year since it can really open up conversation about our faith. With all the church services and different events people are more exposed to the truth and are more curious what it is about. Join us in praying this week for people that don’t know Jesus yet that they have an opportunity to hear the gospel in a way that they can understand.

Remember this week that whatever God puts on your heart do it, it can change your life and the lives of others forever!!

Markus and Jen[:de]Ich weiß nicht ob du mal das Gefühl hattest das Gott dich durch die Lieder die du im Lobpreis singst ermutigt hat. Vor kurzem spielte unser Lobpreis Team in unserer Gemeinde das alte Lied Great is thy faithfulness. Als ich das Lied sang gab mir Gott ein noch tieferes verstehen seiner Treue in unserem Leben. Es ist genial wie Gott ein Lied nutzen kann.

Als ich dann nach dem Gedicht schaute auf dem das Lied basiert ist fand ich heraus das es im Jahr 1923 von Thomas Chisolm geschrieben wurde. Thomas ist sehr arm aufgewachsen mit einer schlechten Gesundheit und einer einfachen Schulbildung. Aber das stoppte ihn nicht davor Lehrer zu werden und später ein Pastor welches er aber beides aufgeben musste wegen seiner Gesundheit. Aber in all diesen Umständen schrieb er von Gottes Treue. Er basierte Treue nicht auf die Dinge die er in der Welt bekommen konnte sondern nur direkt auf Gott.

1923 war nur wenige Jahre vor der großen Depression die die ganze Welt traf. Ich frage mich wie viele Menschen durch dieses Gedicht in dieser Zeit ermutigt waren ihre Augen auf Gottes Treue zu legen anstatt auf die Umstände durch die sie gingen. Ich bin mir sicher das Menschen diese Zeilen lasen und ihr Vertrauen wieder ganz auf Gott legten.

Später wurde das Lied auf den Evangelisation Veranstaltungen von Billy Graham gespielt wo tausende Menschen ihr Leben Jesu übergaben. Und nun im Jahr 2019 ermutigt mich Gott durch dieses Lied.

Ich bin mir sicher das Thomas nicht dachte das diese Gedicht später ein Lied wird und dann viele Menschen weltweit bewegen würde. Er schrieb sicher das Gedicht um selber von Gottes Treue selbst in schweren Tagen ermutigt zu werden. Aber Gott benutzte es viel Größer als er es sich jemals vorstellen konnte.

Wir möchten dich mit diesem Lied und dieser Geschichte ermutigen das Gott treu ist in deinem in meinem und dem Leben von jedem anderen Menschen auf dieser Welt! Erinnere dich täglich daran! Hab keine Angst und mache die Dinge die er für dich hat und sei treu darin! Du weißt nicht ob in 100 Jahren jemand durch dein Lied oder etwas anderes das Gott dir aufs Herz gelegt hat ermutigt wird und dadurch Veränderung kommt.

Wir hoffen das du eine wunderbare Zeit um Ostern zu feiern! Er ist auferstanden! Wir lieben diese Zeit des Jahres da viele Gespräche zum Glauben stattfinden können. Mit all den Gottesdiensten und verschiedenen Veranstaltungen kommen viele mehr in Kontakt mit der guten Nachricht und haben dann eine Kuriosität herauszufinden was es bedeutet. Bete diese Woche mit uns für Menschen die Jesus noch nicht kennen das sie das Evangelium auf einem Weg präsentiert bekommen das sie es verstehen können.

Vergiss diese Woche nicht: Was immer dir Gott aufs Herz gelegt hat, tue es! Es kann dein Leben als auch die Leben vieler anderer für immer verändern!!

[:en]In a few days we are celebrating Easter. When you read through the gospels and the days leading up to Easter you see so much pain, betrayal and hurt. Everything seems to go down and no hope is left. The disciples followed Jesus for many years and now one of their own betrays him. Judas, even after hearing and seeing Jesus do miracles for many years chooses money over his friend and sells him to the ones who want to kill him. The rest of the disciples lose all hope and perspective for life after Jesus is arrested. I can’t imagine how that felt. For many years their lives main focus was Jesus. All they did was follow him and let him lead to whatever needs to be done. But now it is over. They are lucky that people don’t go after them as well and want to kill them too. When Pilate then gives the crowd the choice to free Jesus or a criminal prisoner hope comes back to the disciples. He must free him they think. The crowd would never choose the criminal above Jesus. But a moment later all hope is gone, the crowd chooses the criminal and asks for Jesus to be killed. A short time after they see him one last time at the cross before he would die. All the words are forgotten that Jesus told them that he would come back, that the reason he came is to be a sacrifice so we can all be reconciled with God. In the time of sadness, all memory of those words vanished. Sad and depressed all of them leave.

If the story would end here, we would have a very sad ending. It would mean Jesus didn’t fulfill what he came for. It would mean that the enemy wins and that all hope is gone. Last week I talked about that if the vision didn’t become reality it’s not the end yet. And that is the good news about Easter!! It doesn’t end at the cross!!

A few days later a big gravestone is rolled away. The first ones that come to the grave think that somebody stole the body of Jesus. They still didn’t believe the words he said. But then Jesus shows up and everything changes. Over time all his disciples and friends see him again. All of them realize that the words he said before became a reality. He overcame death and made a way back to the father. Darkness lost its power. Jesus is victorious. Out of that victory, the disciples found hope again and shared the good news about Jesus with the whole world. The good news that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. A story that started so dark and sad ends with the greatest victory. A victory that is as true today as it was yesterday and as it will be tomorrow. Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life!

Like the disciples brought it into the whole world let us bring it across the street to our neighbors and all the other people God placed in your life! Let us not keep this message of hope away from a world that desperately needs hope, a hope not for a moment, but a hope that will never go away. Remember in this Easter time how loved you are by Father God!!

I love this time before Easter when we have the opportunity to think about the greatest, selfless man who ever walked the earth. It’s a time to reflect on how loved we are! We want to encourage you to think about this week! We had many events this week leading up to Easter with our church as well as in our neighborhood. It was wonderful. Pray with us for people in our surroundings to have this week an encounter with Jesus and his love for them.

We want to wish you a blessed and happy Easter!! Remember how loved you are!!

Markus and Jen[:de]In wenigen Tagen feiern wir Ostern. Wenn du durch die Evangelien liest und was in den Tagen vor Ostern so passiert ist findest du viel Schmerz, Betrug und mehr. Alles wird schlimmer von Tag zu Tag und keine Hoffnung bleibt. Die Jünger folgten Jesus für viele Jahre und nun verriet ihn einer seiner Eigenen. Judas, selbst nachdem er Jesus für Jahre hörte und sah wie er Wunder tat, wählt Geld über seinen Freund und verkauft ihn an die die ihn töten wollen. Die anderen Jünger verlieren all ihre Perspektive und Hoffnung nachdem Jesus verhaftet wird. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen wie sich das angefühlt hat. Für viele Jahre war der Haupt Fokus ihres Lebens Jesus. Ihre Tage bestanden daraus Jesus nachzufolgen und mit ihm die Welt zu verändern. Aber nun ist es vorbei. Sie können froh sein das die Menschen nicht auch sie verhaften und töten wollen. Als Pilatus dann denn Massen die Entscheidung für die Freigabe eines Gefangenen gibt Jesus oder Barnabas, einem schwer Kriminellen, kommt die Hoffnung zurück. Er muss ihn freilassen denken sie, die Massen würden sich nie für einen kriminellen entscheiden. Aber eine Minute später ist alle Hoffnung verflogen, die Massen wählten den Kriminellen und wollten Jesus getötet haben. Kurz darauf sehen sie Jesus ein letztes mal am Kreuz kurz bevor Er starb. Alle Worte die er zuvor zu ihnen sprach dass er zurückkommen wird sind vergessen. Dass er als Opfer zur Erde kam das wir Versöhnung mit Gott haben können, alles vergessen. In der Zeit der Trauer gingen diese Worte verloren. Traurig und deprimiert gehen sie.

Wenn die Geschichte hier enden würde, hätten wir ein sehr trauriges Ende. Es würde bedeuten das Jesus seinen Auftrag nicht ausgeführt hat für den er kam. Es würde heißen dass der Teufel gewonnen hat und dass alle Hoffnung verloren ist. Letzte Woche sprach ich darüber dass wenn die Vision noch nicht Realität ist, sind wir noch nicht am Ende. Und das ist die gute Nachricht von Ostern!! Es endet nicht am Kreuz!!

Einige Tage später wird ein großer Grabstein zur Seite gerollt. Die ersten die ans Grab kommen denken das Jesus Leiche gestohlen wurde. Sie glauben immer noch nicht die Worte die er ihnen sagte. Aber dann kommt Jesus und alles sieht anders aus und verändert sich. In der nächsten Zeit sehen ihn alle Jünger. Alle realisieren das die Worte die er zuvor gesagt hat Realität wurden. Er besiegte den Tod und machte einen Weg zum Vater! Dunkelheit hat ihre Kraft verloren. Jesus ist der Sieger. Aus diesem Sieg heraus fanden die Jünger wieder Hoffnung und verbreiteten die Gute Nachricht in die ganze Welt. Die gute Nachricht dass jeder der an Jesus glaubt und ihm vertraut gerettet wird und nicht verloren geht sondern ewiges Leben hat. Eine Geschichte die so dunkel und traurig angefangen hat endet mit einem großen Sieg. Ein Sieg der heute genauso gilt wie gestern und morgen. Jeder der an ihn glaubt wird nicht verloren gehen sondern ewiges Leben haben!!!

Wie die Jünger diese gute Nachricht in die ganze Welt gebracht haben, lasst sie uns direkt über die Straße und den Gartenzaun bringen zu unseren Nachbarn und Menschen die Gott in unser Leben gesetzt hat. Lasst uns diese Nachricht der Hoffnung nicht von dieser Welt fernhalten die verzweifelt ist und dringend Hoffnung braucht. Eine Hoffnung nicht für einen Moment, aber eine Hoffnung die niemals vergehen wird!! Vergiss in dieser Osterzeit nicht wie geliebt du bist von deinem himmlischen Vater!!

Ich liebe die Zeit vor Ostern wo wir die Möglichkeit haben über den großartigsten und selbstlosesten  Mann der jemals auf dieser Erde war nachzudenken. Es ist Zeit darüber nachzudenken wie geliebt wir sind. Denke in dieser Woche darüber nach!! Wir hatten diese Woche viele Veranstaltungen im Zusammenhang mit Ostern mit unserer Gemeinde als auch unserer Wohngegend. Es war wunderbar! Betet mit uns für Menschen in unserem Umfeld das sie in dieser Woche eine Berührung mit Jesus haben und seine Liebe für sie.

Wir wünschen die frohe und gesegnete Ostern!! Vergiss nicht dass du unendlich geliebt bist!

We hope you had a fantastic week!! Are you fasting something in this Easter time? I’m fasting TV Shows and that opened up a little bit extra time. The extra time with God was encouraging!

Our last week was interesting since i was sick for a few days and we had to cancel a few things. But Jen was able to go to all of her things. But Saturday we were able to have our brunch which was as usual encouraging. Im feeling a lot better which is great!! So now we can get back to normal life!

Don’t forget this week that if the vision god gave you hasn’t become reality, its not the end yet! Have a blessed week!!

Hallo unser Freund/in

Wir hoffen das du eine fantastische Woche hattest!! Fastest du von etwas in dieser Osterzeit? Ich faste von Fernsehshows und es gab mir etwas mehr Zeit. Diese extra Zeit mit Gott war einfach super ermutigend.

Unsere letzte Woche war interessant da ich fuer einen grossen Teil krank war und wir lieder dann einiges absagen mussten. Jen konnte allerdings zu all ihren Sachen gehen! Wir hatte aber unser Brunch was wieder super war. Mir geht es nun fast wieder ganz gut was super ist das heist die neue Woche kann wieder gut starten!!

Vergiss diese Woche nicht dass falls die Vision die Gott dir gegeben hat noch nicht Realität geworden ist, das du noch nicht am Ende bist! Habe eine gesegnete Woche!

How was your week and did you have some wonderful times with God? We hope so!! In the last week we had a few events out of the ordinary like a fundraiser and then we got invited to a private piano concert in the house of a friend. It was amazing seeing a pianist playing a long piece without the music in front of him. We were blown away. When we use our gifting’s for others they can multiply and bless many people.

Jen and I are doing well too. We are enjoying the beautiful weather here in sf after all the rain we desperately needed. The only thing with all the sunshine is that allergies are in full bloom so I keep having a runny nose and a really bad cough.

We are praying that you have an amazing week and make sure to use the gifting’s God gave you to bless others!

Hallo unser Freund/in

Wie war deine Woche? Hattest du wieder eine super Zeit mit Gott? Wir hoffen doch mal!! In der letzten Woche hatten wir mehrere Veranstaltungen außerhalb der normalen wöchentlichen Dinge wie zb ein grosser Fundraiser vom Boys and girls club und ein privates Piano Konzert bei einer Freundin aus der Gegend. Es war genial dem Pianisten zuzuschauen wie er ein ganzes Stück ohne Noten auswendig spielte. Wenn wir unsere Gaben für andere einsetzen können diese multipliziert werden und ein Segen für viele sein!!

Jen und mir geht es auch gut. Wir genießen das sonnige Wetter hier in SF nach all dem Regen den wir dringend gebraucht haben. Das einzige Problem mit der Sonne ist das sie auch den Heuschnupfen bei mir herausbringt da alles im vollen Wachstum ist und ich dadurch einen ziemlich starken Husten habe.

Wir beten dafür das du eine super Woche hast und vergiss nicht die Gaben die dir Gott gab dazu einzusetzen ein Segen für andere zu sein!
