[:en]So this is the last blog of the year and on our series Love your Neighbor. But that doesn’t mean its done. No now it starts for some of us and for some of us it keeps going. When Jesus gave the command to love our neighbor He did not put a time limit on it. No this is something we are called to for the rest of our lives. Just think if the disciples would have stopped loving their neighbor what would have happened. The world would probably look different today.

God wants to partner with each one of us in transforming this world. Yes he could do it himself, no problem, but in relationship you want to partner with the other person. So we have to do our part. And we often ask God the question what should I do when we already received the answer Love your neighbor! SO what about if we make this all our theme for the year 2018. The world will start to look different. Our communities start to look more hopeful and we start having a stronger bound which holds us together. The crime rates will go down because we watch out for our neighbor, but not just that by loving our neighbor we can help prevent crime by helping people make better choices.

SO instead of putting our trust in politics, money or whatever we look for to bring change, let’s love our neighbor and bring the love of Jesus and with that change. With that we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year

Christmas is here and might be already gone by the time you read this blog. We probably already ate our wonderful Christmas dinner with neighbors and had a wonderful time. Our last week before Christmas was busy like usual, but we had time to spend time with friends from the community for a lunch or have a potluck with our church small group. What a blessing it is. Now we are starting to plan for the new year and all things ahead. Jen and I have a tradition to pray at the end of the year for words for the new year. We also look back at the ones we got for the last year and see how God moved through them and how they came to pass. We want to encourage you to pray for your new year and let God give you words for your new year.

Markus and Jen[:de]Dies ist der letzte Blog für das Jahr und für unsere Serie liebe deinen nächsten Nachbarn. Aber das heißt nicht das es nun vorbei ist. Nein nun fängt es für machen von uns an und für andere geht es weiter. Als Jesus uns diesen Auftrag gab unsere Nächsten zu lieben legte er keinen Zeitrahmen fest. Nein das ist etwas wozu wir für den Rest unseres Lebens berufen sind. Denk mal an die Jünger, wie wäre es wenn sie nach einiger Zeit aufgegeben hätten. Die Welt würde heute wahrscheinlich anders aussehen.

Gott möchte mit jedem von uns zusammen arbeiten um die Welt zu verändern. Ja er könnte es selber tun, aber in jeder guten Beziehung arbeitet man zusammen. Deshalb hat jeder von uns seinen Teil. Und wie oft stellen wir Gott die Frage was soll ich tun, wenn Er uns bereits die Antwort gab, Liebe deinen Nächsten Nachbarn. Wie wäre es wenn wir dies alle zu unserem Thema im Jahr 2018 machen. Die Welt wir anfangen anders auszusehen. Unsere Wohngegenden fangen an hoffnungsvoller auszusehen und wir wachsen mehr zusammen. Die Kriminalität wird weniger werden da wir auch nach unserem Nachbarn schauen. Aber nicht nur das wenn wir unseren Nachbarn lieben können wir helfen Kriminalität zu verhindern indem wir Menschen helfen bessere Entscheidungen zu treffen.

Anstatt unser Vertrauen in Politik, Geld oder wo wir auch immer hinschauen für Veränderung, lasst uns unseren Nachbarn lieben und bring die Liebe Jesus und damit Veränderung. Mit diesen Worten wünschen wir dir ein frohes und gesegnetes Weihnachtsfest und einen guten Start ins Jahr 2018.

Weihnachten ist hier und vielleicht schon wieder vorbei wenn du diesen Blog liest. Wir haben wahrscheinlich bereits das gute Weihnachts Essen mit Nachbarn gegessen und hatten eine super Zeit. Unsere Letzte Woche vor Weihnachten war wieder recht voll aber wir fanden trotzdem Zeit für ein Mittagessen mit einem Älteren Nachbarn und einer Kleingruppe von unserer Kirche. Was für ein Segen. Nun fangen wir an fürs neue Jahr zu planen. Jen und ich haben eine Tradition. Wir beten am Ende des Jahres für Worte für das neue Jahr. Wir schauen dann auch zurück auf die Worte des vergangenen Jahres und sehen wie Gott sie wahr gemacht hat. Wir möchten dich ermutigen auch für dein neues Jahr zu beten und lass dir von Gott Worte für das neue Jahr geben.

[:en]Now its almost been a year since God put it on our heart to write for a full year on the topic love your neighbor. We really hope you got encouraged, challenged and empowered through reading through the different ones.

Starting with your motives and why you want to love your neighbor to prayer and also dealing with things that might hold you back in loving your neighbor. We talked about the importance of your giftings and how you can help others. Encouragment and community also were a big thing especially in being interdependent with your neighbors. We talked about how small things can make a difference and different ways on how you can have people over through hospitality. One week reminded us of the most important thing, love! We also touched challenges with time and how to fix that. And then of course we talked about the importance of showing the love you have for Jesus  through the way you live your life.

This was just touching a few of the points we talked about. If you didn’t get a chance to read them all they are all saved under the category Love your neighbor. But more important than reading them is to let them become a part of your life. Let the things they talk about inspire you to bring hope and change to the place you live. Be one of the lights that Jesus talks about in Matthew 5.14-16 to your neighbors. Make that area shine and stick out so people can see the love of God in a new way. Its so simple that each one of us can do it. So if you haven’t started, today is a perfect day for it!! And one thing that really helps is if you surround yourself with a group of people that want to join you in their own areas so you can encourage each other! It really helps!

Wow Christmas is only 1 week away. That is crazy to believe but in some way its easy to believe since we had so many Christmas parties we attended. As more you are connected with your community as more you are a part of things that are going on. We also had a day of baking to bless neighbors with a card and a home baked specialty. It was something so simple, but it brought so much joy to so many. I also had my last mentoring meetup for this year. Its amazing to see how a young person can grow if you invest some of your time and love. Also through that he became part of our family! Maybe there is someone in your neighborhood that needs a mentor or an encourager. You should find them and do it!

Remember that loving your neighbor is easy, you just have to do it!

Markus and Jen[:de]Nun ist es beinahe ein Jahr seit es uns Gott ans Herz gelegt hat ein komplettes Jahr über das Thema Love your neighbor Liebe deinen Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu schreiben. Wir hoffen dass du ermutigt, herausgefordert und ermächtigt wurdest durch das lesen der verschiedenen Blogs.

Wir fingen an mit den Motiven und wieso du dein Nachbarn liebst, gingen dann zum Gebet und zu den Dingen die dich zurückhalten deinen Nachbarn zu lieben. Wir sprachen dann darüber wie wichtig es ist deine Gaben einzusetzen und wie diese anderen helfen können. Ermutigung und Gemeinschaft war auch ein wichtiges Thema speziell in dem Punkt das wir von unseren Nachbarn abhängig sind. Dann sprachen wir darüber wie kleine Dinge große Veränderung bringen können und verschiedene Wege wie du Nachbarn durch Gastfreundschaft einladen kannst. In einer Woche sprachen wir über das wichtigste von allen Themen Liebe! Wir sprachen auch darüber wie Zeit eine Herausforderung ist und wie wir das verändern können. Und dann natürlich ganz wichtig sprachen wir darüber wie du Jesus Liebe durch wie du dein Leben lebst zeigen kannst.

Die waren nur einige der Punkte die wir angesprochen haben. Falls du nicht dazugekommen bist alle zu lesen, kannst du dies immer noch tun in dem du die Kategorie Love your Neighbor anklickst. Aber viel wichtiger als sie zu lesen ist es das dies ein Teil deines Lebens wird. Lass die Dinge von denen wir sprechen dich inspirieren Hoffnung und Veränderung in deine Wohngegend zu bringen. Sei eines der Lichter zu deinen Nachbarn von denen Jesus in Matthäus 5.14-16 spricht. Lass dein Gebiet scheinen das es heraussteht so das auch andere die Liebe Gottes ganz neu sehen dürfen. Es ist so einfach das jeder von uns es tun kann. Falls du noch nicht angefangen hast, heute ist ein perfekter Tag dafür! Und eine Sache die wirklich hilft ist wenn du eine Gruppe von Menschen um dich herumscharst die es auch tun wollen so das ihr euch gegenseitig ermutigen könnt!! Das ist eine grosse Hilfe!

Wow nur noch 1 Woche bist Weihnachten. Die Zeit verging so schnell aber irgendwie passt es schon wenn ich an all die vielen Weihnachtsfeiern denke die wir besucht und veranstaltet haben. Je mehr du mit Menschen Verbindung hast je mehr wirst du ein Teil von allem das passiert. Wir hatten auch einen Back Tag um ein Segen für unsere Nachbarn zu sein. Wir brachten eine Karte und etwas gebackenes und brachten dadurch viel Freude. Ich hatte auch meine letzte Mentoring Meeting mit einem jungen Mann in dieser Woche für dieses Jahr. Es ist genial zu sehen was passiert wenn du jemandem Zeit und liebe schenkst und was für ein Wachstum dadurch kommen kann. Der junge Mann wurde ein Teil unserer Familie! Vielleicht ist da auch jemand in deinem Wohngebiet der einen Mentor oder Ermutigter braucht. Finde ihn und sei der Mentor!!

Vergiss nicht das es einfach ist deinen Nachbarn zu lieben, du musst es nur tun!

[:en]Sometimes you can be in a huge crowd of people and still feel alone. This is the reality for many people in our cities and some in the countryside. But now with this Christmas season many experience it even stronger. The feeling of being isolated can make people question themselves if there is something wrong with them. As longer those lies are lingering in their lives as more it isolates them and as less likely they will connect on their own. So isolation becomes stronger and stronger. And as more isolated we are as more lies the enemy can throw at us and the more we believe it because no one tells us the truth.

But there is hope!! Jesus never left us without a solution to any problem. He has the answer to all of them. I believe the solution he would give us to that problem would be to look into the mirror. Each one of us can be the answer. All of us can reach out to a neighbor and be a friend. Just think about it this way: If every person in the world reaches out to their neighbor and becomes true friends with them, there is no more isolation. But not just that, if all Christ Lovers do that almost all people on this planet can see His love through one of us. He can use us to change this world and bring hope through true friendships and family.

How is your Christmas season going? Hopefully you have a chance to spend some time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Our time here in SF is going well. We had meetings, a brunch and at the end of the week a Christmas celebration with our ywam bay area family. It was wonderful. But with all the activity we are trying to find those times of reflection. It can be hard to find the time, but it can be done. As we find them join us and find them too!! That way we all will be blessed!

So remember this week that you are the answer to loneliness and isolation in our world!

Markus and Jen[:de]Manchmal kannst du in einer Menschenmasse stehen und dich trotzdem allein fühlen. Dies ist eine Realität die viele Menschen in unseren Städten und auch auf dem Land erleben. Aber in dieser Weihnachtszeit zeigt es sich bei vielen noch stärker. Das Gefühl der Isolation und Einsamkeit kann Menschen dazu bringen sich selber zu fragen ob irgendetwas mit ihnen nicht richtig ist. Je länger diese Lügen Platz in Menschen finden je mehr isolieren sie sich und die Chance das sie selber Kontakt aufbauen schwindet. Isolation wird stärker und stärker. Und je mehr wir uns isolieren je mehr Lügen kann der Teufel uns glaubhaft machen, da uns niemand die Wahrheit sagen kann.

Aber es gibt Hoffnung! Jesus lässt uns nie vor einem Problem stehen zu dem Er keine Lösung hat. Er hat immer eine Antwort. Ich glaube die Antwort die Er uns zu diesem Problem geben würde wäre in den Spiegel zu schauen. Jeder von uns kann die Antwort sein. Jeder von uns kann einen Nachbarn erreichen und ein Freund sein. Schau dir das mal so an: Wenn jeder in der Welt eine wahre Freundschaft mit seinen Nachbarn aufbaut gibt es keine Isolation und Einsamkeit mehr. Aber nicht nur das, wenn alle Jesus Nachfolger dies tun, kann fast jeder auf dieser Welt Jesus Liebe durch jeden von uns sehen. Er kann uns dazu nutzen diese Welt zu verändern und Hoffnung durch wahre Freundschaften und Familie zu bringen.

Wir möchten dich ermutigen dieser Bewegung beizutreten. Fange heute an deinen Nachbarn zu lieben. Wenn du Tipps brauchst wie du dies tun kannst, lies die Blogs die wir seit Januar posten. Sie werden helfen Ideen aufflammen zu lassen.

Lass diese Weihnachtszeit eine Zeit von Familie und Gemeinschaft für jeden sein!

Wie ist deine Advents Zeit? Wir hoffen dass du etwas Zeit hast um über die wahre Bedeutung von Weihnachten nachzudenken. Uns geht es gut hier in SF. Wir hatten in dieser Woche einige Meetings, ein Brunch und eine YWAM Bay area Weihnachtsfeier. Es war super. Aber mit all der Geschäftigkeit versuchen wir auch diese Zeit zum Nachdenken zu finden. Es kann schwer sein, aber es ist möglich! Wenn wir sie in unserer Woche finden finde du sie in deiner!! Dadurch werden wir alle gesegnet!

Erinnere dich in dieser Woche daran das du die Antwort zu Einsamkeit und Isolation in dieser Welt bist!

We (with that I mean many neighbors from our area) are all sitting around the table, stuffed after a good meal when our neighbor friend Carl asks the following question:” What are you thankful for?” As the question made its way around the table many different answers came but most of them had to do with thankfulness for people around the table. “I moved to this area and didn’t know many people for many years. My home and friends were still at the other location I moved from. I used to drive down there all the time to see them. But then I found community here through neighbors and now this place really became home,” He said while looking at everyone around the table.

This is what happens when we do what Jesus called us to do, to love our neighbor. This is why we do what we do. This is why we want to inspire you to do it as well!!  But that is not just to follow a command; no this is also for us. We can find true community as well while we are a family to others. We can be a part in bringing change to our neighborhoods and make them the best places to live. But not just that, no even more important, when we love people well they can see Jesus through us and they will be more likely open to receiving His love too!

So remember in this Christmas season, there are people around you that need a family and you have the chance to be that family they need. Truly love your neighbor!!

Wow this last week was a whirlwind. We were teaching the Skater DTS on how to love there neighborhood. It was a lot of fun. We also had a birthday party for Bethany which had a mix of people from the neighborhood as from other parts of town. It was a lot of fun. On Saturday we had a 30 year of YWAM San Francisco Celebration and Fundraiser. Many people came and felt inspired by the different stories they heard from all those years. We had a wonderful date this week were we ate out at a Indian restaurant which was a lot of fun!

Markus and Jen[:de]Wir (damit meine ich viele unserer Nachbarn) sitzen zusammen am Esstisch, satt nach einem großartigen essen, als Carl unser Nachbar die folgende Frage stellt: “wofür bist du dankbar?“ Als die Frage um den Tisch wanderte kamen viele verschieden Antworten, aber die meisten können mit Dankbarkeit für die Menschen an diesem Tisch zusammengefasst werden. „Als ich vor etlichen Jahren in dieses Wohngebiet zog kannte ich für viele Jahre fast keinen. Meine Zuhause und meine Freunde waren immer noch an dem anderen Ort von dem ich hergezogen bin. Ich fuhr ständig zurück um mich mit ihnen zu treffen. Aber dann fand ich Gemeinschaft hier mit Nachbarn und nun wurde dieser Ort ein wahres zuhause,“ sagte er während er jeden in der Runde anschaute.

Dies ist was passiert wenn wir tun was Jesus uns aufgetragen hat, liebe deinen Nächsten (Nachbarn). Dies ist wieso wir tun was wir tun. Dies ist der Grund wieso wir dich inspirieren wollen dies auch zu tun!! Aber hier geht es nicht nur darum einem Auftrag zu folgen, nein hier geht es auch um uns. Wir können wahre Gemeinschaft finden wenn wir eine Familie für andere sind und werden. Wir können einen Teil daran haben unsere Wohngebiete zu verändern und sie zu den Orten zu machen in denen man am besten leben kann. Aber nicht nur das, nein noch viel wichtiger, wenn wir Menschen wahrhaftig lieben können sie Jesus durch uns sehen und das erleichtert es dann auch für sie von der Liebe Jesus berührt zu werden!!

Vergiss in dieser Weihnachtszeit nicht, das um dich herum Menschen leben die eine Familie brauchen und du hast die Chance diese Familie zu werden. Liebe deinen Nachbarn!!

Wow diese Woche war ein Wirbel Wind. Wir haben die Skateboard DTS unterrichtet wie sie ihre Wohngegenden lieben können. Es hat viel Spaß gemacht. Dann hatten wir eine Geburtstagsfeier für Bethany (eine Kollegin) bei der Freunde aus unserem Wohngebiet als auch Menschen aus anderen Teilen der Stadt zusammen kamen. Es war super. Am Samstag hatten wir dann eine Spendengala und Feier zum 30 jährigen Jubiläum von YWAM San Francisco. Viele kamen und wurden inspiriert durch die verschiedenen Geschichten von all diesen Jahren. Falls ihr gerne durch die Geschichten inspirert werden wollt und die Veranstaltung anschauen wollte koennt ihr sie unter diesem Link finden. Es ist unter der Post Cultivate. Jen und mir geht es auch ganz gut. Wir haben diese Woche ein tolles Date gehabt bei dem wir bei einem indischen Restaurant aßen. War auch toll.
