Hi our friend

We hope you are having a wonderful summer!! Our family is visiting Pennsylvania to see our family, friends and supporters there. After that we are adding a vacation. So for the month of July there wont be weekly updates, but you will still get a weekly video to challenge and encourage you here on the blog!

We also have this prayer request for our time away: Our last season has been really busy and all of us are pretty tired. If you could pray for a time of good rest and refreshment for us during our time away. Thank you so much!!

We hope you have been inspired by Mary Slessor’s story. She didn’t have an easy childhood, but she didn’t let everything that happened in her life hold her back from following God’s plan for her life and seeing how He worked through her. She didn’t remain a victim but an overcomer through Jesus. If you have things in your past that always make you feel like you can only be a victim, I want to encourage you to ask God to bring you healing. Have people you trust pray for you and be encouraged by counseling. Don’t let your past hold you back from the things God has for your life and move forward with Him victoriously!!

Have a blessed week

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week!!

On Fridays Jen is helping with different projects of the work and I am out with Caleb. We got to go to a little park in Chinatown. It was so great to see how Caleb connected with the different kids and played with them even they did not understand each other language wise. I also got to connect with parents that took their kids to the park who spoke only a little bit of English. It didn’t matter if it was just a few words spoken God used those to encourage. You might have people in your area that might not speak your language or just a little bit, but don’t let that hinder you to connect with them! Use whatever way you can to connect and communicate and show love.

We also hope you got inspired by Lottie Moon. We want to encourage you to pray about how, where and who you can sacrificially support in world mission?

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week!!

We love our Saturday brunch. Yes we love the food but the best part is the people. Last Saturday we had some wonderful new neighbors join us and it was a wonderful time. The great thing is that they also got to meet some of the neighbors they didn’t know yet. Brunches bring people together in a wonderful way! When are you gonna host a brunch?

We also hope you got inspired by the story of D L Moody. We want to encourage you to ask God if he has given you a gift of preaching and teaching and if ask how he wants you to use it!

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week!!

Our last week was full with people and it was fun! We had a dinner with families from Calebs future preschool, were teaching part 3 of the love your neighbor class and were involved in church this week with greeting and announcements to just name 3. I love weeks like that but then we were all a bit tired by the end. But that is why God gave us a sabbath to refresh and since we have been doing this it has refreshed us. We want to encourage you to even in times of busy schedule to set one day a week away for a day of rest.

We also hope you got inspired by the story of Hudson Taylor. We want to encourage you to ask God who the people are he wants you to share the gospel with. Also think about those 3 things:

  1. Ask God to guide you in sharing the gospel in a way people can understand and in a way that breaks down barriers for them.
  2. Make sure to work out of Gods strength not your own.
  3. Be prepared for attacks of the enemy and keep your eyes on Jesus. Remember God is way more powerful than anything the enemy can do!

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week!!

In Romans 12. 15 it talks about to mourn with those who mourn and that is what Jen was able to do with the family of a neighborhood friend. She attended a memorial service for a lady who was part of a group who prayed for our Neighborhood. It is so important in times of sadness to be there for the families and mourn with them.

“We hope that you have been inspired by William and Catherine. Ask yourself the question: What moves your heart and then pray and ask God if that is the area he wants to use you in to bring change.

God bless you

Markus, Jen and Caleb
