Our story today is about a David a man who honors God! You can read the stories in the book of 1. Samuel 24 and 26!
Hi our friend
How are you?
I cant believe that its already the last week in September. This year went by so fast. But looking back its amazing to see how God is moving things forward in so many areas. Just in this last week we finished a 21 day Love your neighbor challenge with a local church in the bay area. It was a blessing working together with them to make a difference in their community. We also had great times connecting with a friend in the neighborhood over a meal and talk about our love for Jesus. Spend this week some time to think about why you love Jesus and then share it with others.
Also spend some time to hink about how you can honor God in your life?
After the Judges in Israel the 2 books of Samuel introduce us to the first 2 kings of Israel. We will find out how different they were. We want to give you a little introduction into those books with this video blog so when you read them you have hopefully a better understanding.
Hi our friend
We hope you had a wonderful week!! Jen, Caleb and I had a good week here in SF. We enjoyed some sunny days here!! During that wonderful weather we were able to connect with multiple neighbors and leaders in the neighborhood and could encourage and inspire them. On Saturday we had a prayer walk together with others in our church here in North Beach. It is so important to pray for the place we live. When you prayer walk you actually get to pray for the things you see and also the things god puts on your heart for your community. As an example, It might be praying for community and against loneliness and isolation, pray that people find Jesus, pray for business owners and their businesses. Try it out this week. If you have questions on how feel free to email us and we can help you get started!!
Also lets ask ourselves the question along with the video topic above where we stand in life. Are we more like a Saul or a David? After we got more clarity on that, lets ask God to help us become more like David.
When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us. And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!
Our tip for this month is to write an encouraging card or note for your neighbors! Watch the video with some tips on that!
Hi our friend
How are you?
Our week here was a bit of a whirlwind. Jen attended a memorial of a friend from her book club with some very influential leaders in the city. She was able to share with everyone an experience her friend had with Jesus before she died. Everyone was encouraged. Then we had a second memorial for a friend who passed unexpectedly from our small group. He just got baptized in July and was so on fire for Jesus. I want to ask you to keep all the people that attended the memorial where Jen shared and the family and friends of our small group in your prayers, especially in this time of their grief.
We also had some not so sad moments this week with a picnic with our encouragement group. We met all up together in the park and enjoyed each others company. It was a wonderful time.
Remember this week to write an encouraging card or note to your neighbor!
Today we want to look a bit at the book of Ephesians. Have fun and be inspired
Hi our friend
How was your week?
We had a wonderful sunny week here in San Francisco which made us able to go outside a few times which is awesome!!
We also started this week the 21 day Love your Neighbor challenge with the church we did the workshop last weekend and it is exciting to see how excited everyone is in participating. We give a daily tip on how to do it and they get started. The goal is to help everyone to making it a habit. It’s amazing what impact that can leave in the different neighborhoods. We will do another Love your neighbor Zoom workshop in the near future and would love for you to join! Send us a quick email that you are interested and we will send you details! Also the love your neighbor social network is growing which is exciting too. Outside of all the online things we got to also connect with people outside through lunch and walks which was a real blessing.
Also remember this week to read the book of Ephesians and be inspired.
