[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

How are you?

This week was sad and happy at the same time. First of we were able to have a bbq with 2 of our neighbors on our deck which was amazing! It felt more like normal again to connect with neighbors in the way we always did before. This week our whole street also had a Goodbye for one of our long term neighbor friends. He lived here for 49 years and was such a big part of the neighborhood. It was wonderful to celebrate him, but in the same way sad to see him move. Pray for a good start for him at his new spot.

No matter if you have a neighbor that is here for a short time or a long time, make sure to invest in relationship. And also fitting with our monthly love your neighbor tip at the beginning of the blog, maybe start that relationship or make it go deeper by bringing over something home baked!! So think about what you gonna bake, come up with a simple plan when and then do it!!

 [:de]Wieso ist das wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Wie geht es dir?

Die letzte Woche war eine frohe aber gleichzeitig auch eine traurige. Wir starteten sie indem wir zusammen mit 2 Nachbarn auf unserem Deck grillten. Wir hatten eine super Zeit. Es fühlte sich wieder so an wie vor der Pandemie wo wir ständig Nachbarn bei uns zuhause hatten. Dann später in der Woche hatten wir mit der ganzen Straße eine Verabschiedung Feier für einen unserer ersten Nachbar Freunde in der Gegend.  Er lebte hier für 49 Jahre und wurde ein großer Teil unserer Straße. Es war wunderbar ihn zu feiern aber gleichzeitig auch traurig ihn wegzuziehen zu sehen. Betet für einen guten Start für ihn an seinem neuen Wohnort.

Ganz egal ob du einen Nachbarn hast der für kurze oder lange Zeit neben dir wohnt, investiere in diese Beziehung! Und ganz passend dazu ist unser monatlicher Love your neighbor, liebe deinen Nachbarn Tip am Anfang des Blogs, baue eine Beziehung auf oder vertiefe eine Beziehung indem du etwas für deine Nachbarn backst. Denk darüber nach was du backen möchtest und plane eine Zeit zu backen und es dann zu deinen Nachbarn zu bringen! Und los geht’s!!
