Hey our friend

We hope you had a great week. We saw God deepening relationships we have and also bring along new ones. We also celebrated my (Markus) Birthday last Saturday and went to a drag race which was awesome (here is a link to the photo album). I also felt really loved since many of my friends wrote or called me for it. Thank you that meant a lot to me.

Are you living by your limits or by His

Over the last year I was reading a lot of books about different ministry leaders and missionaries. One thing that stuck out to me is that they didn’t put limits on what God can do. Many times we try to figure out things or take on projects based on our capacity and strength. But the thing is, if you do that with God projects, you don’t need God to show up since you will be able to achieve it. When you look as an example at Moses and the task He gave him you see that it took some serious faith and trusting that God will show up. He had no way to get Israel through the water without God. But God showed up and split the sea. Or Noah, everybody thought he was crazy to build a ship in the middle of the country. But God showed up again and saved his family through it. But all of them had to take a step of faith that required them to believe that God has no limitations. We want to challenge you to think about the areas in your life where you put limits on God. Pray about it and ask God why you put those limits there and ask Him to help you breaking them. Ask God what he wants you to do if there are no limitations. God wants to do great things through your life, Let Him!!

Wir hoffen das du eine super Woche hattest. Wir konnten in dieser Woche erleben wie Gott Beziehungen vertiefte und uns neue schenkte. Und dann feierten wir am Samstag noch meinen Geburtstag wozu wir zu einem Drag Race gingen was super war (hier ist ein link zum Album). Vielen Dank auch für die vielen Geburtstags Anrufe, Emails und Facebook Nachrichten. Ich habe mich sehr darüber gefreut.

Lebst du mit deinen Limits oder mit Seinen?

Im letzten Jahr lass ich sehr viele Bücher von vielen Missionaren und verschiedenen Leuten die mehr von Gottes Liebe in diese Welt brachten. Eine Sache die ich ständig sah war das sie Gott keine Limits setzten.  Ich denke wir gehen sehr oft auf Projekte und Dinge zu mit dem verstehen das wir sie mit unserer Kraft und Kapazität erledigen können. Aber die Sache ist die, wenn du dies mit Gottes Projekten tust, brauchst du nicht wirklich Gottes Stärke da du es in deiner eigenen schaffen kannst. Wenn du Dir zum Beispiel Moses anschaust wirst du feststellen dass auch dieser an vielen Punkten ohne Gott große Probleme gehabt hätte. Er musste glauben und Gott vertrauen. Spätestens als er vor dem Meer stand hätte er ohne Gott aufgeben müssen, aber Gott machte einen Weg.  Noah ist ein weiteres Beispiel. Er baute ein Schiff im Inland und jeder dachte dass er Verrückt ist. Aber Gott zeigte sich wieder indem er Noah und seine Familie durch ihr Vertrauen rettete. Aber jeder dieser Leute musste einen Schritt tun und Gott vertrauen. Vertrauen das Gott keine Limits hat. Wir möchten dich herausfordern darüber nachzudenken wo du Gott Limits in deinem Leben gesetzt hast. Bete darüber und frage Gott wieso du Ihm in diesen Bereichen Limits gesetzt hast und bitte Ihn darum dich von diesen frei zu setzen. Frage Gott was er durch dich tun möchte ohne Limitation.  Gott möchte großartige Dinge durch dein Leben tun, Lass Ihn!!

During the last week Jens’ Mom and sister came out for a visit. It was really good seeing them again. We also spoke to a local small group about getting involved into the work we are doing in North Beach. Pray that God will speak to people in the small group about what they can do to impact the community. Thanks for all your Prayers. Oh and I am excited for this Saturday which is also my (Markus) birthday. My wonderful friends bought me tickets to go to a drag race. Yeah!!

 Are you taking Authority?

This morning in worship God gave me a picture of how we are and what authority we have. Think about a King in the prime time of Kings and the authority he had. When he said something it was done for him. If he told someone to conquer another Kingdom or to bring him dinner, it didn’t matter what it was, it got done.  He took his authority and made things happen.  But then if you would have been the Son of the King and you would ask for something to be done that your father asked you to make sure it gets done, people would listen to you since you are the son of the King and since you carry his authority.  If he would have been the same person with the same giftings, but he would have not the title of a King son nobody would have listened to him.

So now if you look at God and His Kingdom you will see that He literally has authority over everything. So nothing in this world can stand against Him. And God called us sons and daugthers of Him. So that means if He calls us to do something nothing can stop us, because we have the authority from our father. I mean literally nothing can stop us besides the fear in our life. The enemy can’t,  demonic powers can’t, people can’t, so literally no one can stop us. But how do we receive that authority to fight that fear? Only through faith. And faith is believing that God is at work through the things we are doing in His name even if we don’t see the results right away. We have to believe that God called us. And no matter if you know the clear calling for your life or not, we all have the calling Jesus gave us go and make disciples. A little story from here to make you think.

Charles was a man I met at local meeting of Christian business man. Every week he invited another man who didn’t know Jesus to the meeting and to church. Many times he got rejected from the man since he didn’t want to go. Charles didn’t stop. He spend time with the man and invested in him with no seen success but he kept using the Authority God has given him. That went on for a long time. Charles never gave up. 3 months ago Charles passed away. 2 days later when the man found out that he died He understood what Charles was sharing with Him about Jesus and Gods Kingdom and he knew that Charles went to heaven. The man gave his life to Jesus and changed. The thing is, Charles never saw the outcome on earth of using the authority God has given him, but it didn’t mean nothing happened.

We are at the end of this blog and I want to leave you with this: If we step up and replace the fear in our life with faith nothing can stop us. Use the authority God has given you!!

Letzte Woche hatten wir Besuch von Jens Familie, Ihre Mutter und Schwester. Es war schön die beiden wieder zu sehen. Letzte Woche waren wir auch bei einer Kleingruppe in North Beach welcher wir von der Arbeit berichteten. Bete dafür das Gott zu den richtigen Leuten spricht die uns als Partner mit der Arbeit helfen können und auch darüber wie sie die Gegend erreichen können. Vielen Dank für eure Gebete. Oh und ich (Markus) freue mich schon auf Samstag, welcher auch mein Geburtstag ist. 2 sehr gute Freunde schenkten mir Tickets für ein Dragster Rennen. Yeah!!

Benutzt du deine dir gegebene Autorität?

Heute Morgen in unserer Lobpreiszeit gab mir Gott ein Bild davon wer wir sind und welche Autorität wir haben. Stelle dir einen König im Mittelalter vor und denke an die Autorität die er hatte. Wenn er etwas befahl wurde es für ihn getan. Es war egal ob er befahl ein anderes Königreich einzunehmen oder ihm Abendeseen zu bringen, es spielte keine Rolle was es war, es wurde getan. Er regierte in seiner Autorität und veränderte Dinge. Aber nun stell dir vor du bist der Sohn dieses Königs und er gibt dir den Auftrag etwas zu erledigen. Die Leute würden auf dich hören da du der Sohn des Königs bist und damit seine Autorität mit dir trägst. Wenn du die gleiche Person wärest mit den gleichen Stärken aber nicht der Sohn des König wärst niemand würde auf dich hören.

Wenn du dir nun Gott und sein Königreich anschaust wirst du feststellen dass er wirklich alle Autorität über alles hat. Also nichts in dieser Welt ist stark genug um Ihm zu wiederstehen. Und Gott sagte das wir  seine Söhne und Töchter sind. Das heißt das wenn er uns zu etwas beruft kann uns nichts und niemand aufhalten weil wir die Autorität von unserem Vater haben. Ich meine im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes nichts kann uns aufhalten nur die Angst der wir Raum in unserem Leben geben. Der Teufel kann nichts tun, dämonische Kräfte auch nicht und auch keine Leute, also im wahrsten  Sinne des Wortes niemand kann. Aber wie erhalten wir diese Autorität? Nur durch Glauben. Und Glaube ist zu glauben das Gott durch die Dinge arbeitet die wir in seinem Namen tun selbst wenn wir nicht sofort Resultate sehen. Wir müssen glauben das Gott uns berufen hat. Und selbst wenn du deine klare Berufung für dein Leben nicht genau weißt, wir haben alle die Berufung Jünger zu machen, heißt Menschen zu Jesus zu führen und ihnen helfen zu wachsen. Hier eine kleine Geschichte zum Nachdenken.

Charles ist ein älterer Mann den ich bei einem Treffen von christlichen Geschäftsleuten kennenlernte. Jede Woche lud er einen anderen Mann zu dem Treffen ein welcher Jesus noch nicht kannte. Viele male lehnte dieser die Einladung ab. Charles gab nicht auf. Er verbrachte Zeit mit diesem Mann und investierte in sein Leben ohne großen Erfolg zu sehen. Aber er brachte jedes Mal die Autorität die Ihm Gott gab mit sich.  Dies wiederholte sich für viele Monate vielleicht sogar Jahre. Charles gab niemals auf. Vor 3 Monaten starb Charles in Folge eines Herzinfarkts. Als dieser Mann 2 Tage später herausfand das Charles gestorben ist fing er an zu verstehen was Charles Ihm so lange von Jesus und Gottes Königreich gezeigt hat und er war sich sicher das Charles im Himmel war. Dieser Mann übergab an diesem Tag sein Leben Jesus und veränderte sich. Die Sache ist das Charles niemals das Endresultat auf dieser Erde erlebte und wie Gott seine Autorität durch ihn benutzte, aber das heißt nicht das Gott nicht gewirkt hat.

Ich möchte diesen Blog mit diesem Gedanken beenden: Wenn wir Angst in unserem Leben mit Glaube ersetzen kann uns nichts aufhalten. Benutzte die Autorität die dir Gott gegeben hat!!

San Francisco was blessed last week through a team from Washington. A good friend of mine let a group of youth to San Francisco to help out at the boys and girls club and run a summer day camp at a church in Hunters Point. It was great working together with them to see more hope coming into the lives of many children in our city. Please keep praying that the work they started will keep moving forward.

We are Family

Jesus wont ask you in heaven how many people prayed the sinners prayer. But He will ask you, how many people did you disciple and be family to them.

When I think about family I think first of the family we are born in. But then second I think about our church family. So how many of us are actually seeing it as a family. I think many times people go to church and consume but then leave. I believe that is not family. If we are a part of a church we need to connect with people and invest in people. As an example if you prayed for someone to receive Jesus and they do so, that doesn’t mean its done. That means its starting. If you don’t walk alongside new Christians, many of them will give up their faith after a while and then it will be way harder to win them back.  Jesus called us to make disciples not converts. And how do you make disciples? If you walk alongside with people. If you are there when they need you and if you pray for them. Let them be a part of your life. Many people never experienced a true family where they are truly loved. But that is what we the church are called to give them. Just imagine this, you are going to church and you can share everything that is going on in your life with everyone and they will celebrate with you in your successes and encourage you in your failures. A place where you can be totally who you are and you are accepted. But to create a place like this we all have to do our part. We cant always expect others to come to us first, but we have to take the first step. So next time you go to church invest in people and become a family to them. Love on them and be real with them. You will see that when you do that you will get more back then you could have ever asked for. Remember these are your brothers and sisters and not competition

San Francisco wurde letzte Woche durch ein Team von Washington gesegnet. Ein guter Freund von uns leitete eine Gruppe Jugendlicher nach San Francisco um bei der Arbeit des Boys und Girls Club in North Beach auszuhelfen und ein Sommer Camp in einer Kirche in Hunters Point zu veranstalten. Es war genial zu sehen wie Gott mehr Hoffnung in die Kinder in beiden Gebieten brachte. Bitte bete weiterhin dafür das die Arbeit die das Team begann und unterstützte wächst und weiter geht.

Wir sind Familie

Jesus wird dich nicht im Himmel fragen wie viele Menschen du konvertiert hast. Er wird dich aber eher Fragen zu wie vielen Menschen warst du Familie und hast sie zu Jüngern gemacht und sie seine Wege gelehrt.

Wenn ich an Familie denke kommt mir zuerst Geburts Familie in den Kopf. Aber als zweites denke ich dann an meine Gemeinde Familie. Wie viele von uns sehen die zweite als wirkliche Familie? Ich denke viele gehen in die Kirche um etwas zu konsumieren um gleich darauf zu gehen. Ich glaube nicht das dies Familie ist. Wenn wir ein Teil einer Kirche sind müssen wir Freundschaften aufbauen und in andere in der Gemeinde investieren. Als Beispiel, wenn du für jemanden gebetet hast und er hat sein Leben Jesus gegeben, heißt das nicht das deine Aufgabe erledigt ist. Das heißt es hat begonnen. Wenn wir nicht an der Seite von neuen Christen stehen und mit Ihnen gehen werden diese oftmals ihren Glauben verlieren und es ist dann viel schwieriger sie aufs Neue für Jesus zu begeistern. Jesus hat uns dafür berufen Jünger zu machen und nicht dazu Menschen nur zu konvertieren. Und wie macht man Menschen zu Jüngern? Indem man Ihnen zur Seite steht, wenn wir da sind wenn sie uns brauchen, sie unterrichten und indem wir für sie beten. Lass sie ein Teil deines Lebens werden. Viele haben niemals eine wahre Familie erlebt in der sie wirklich geliebt wurden. Aber das ist genau das wozu wir als Kirche und Gemeinde berufen sind Ihnen zu geben. Stele dir vor, du gehst in eine Gemeinde und du kannst alles erzählen das dir auf dem Herzen liegt, gutes und schlechtes. Alle werden mit dir die Erfolge feiern und werden dich in den schweren Dingen ermutigen. Ein Ort an dem du total sein kannst wer du bist und akzeptiert wirst. Aber um einen solchen Ort zu haben müssen wir alle unseren Teil tun. Wir können nicht immer erwarten das alle auf uns zu kommen, nein wir müssen auch den ersten Schritt tun. Wenn du das nächste Mal in die Kirche gehst, investiere in die Menschen die kommen und werde eine Familie für sie. Liebe sie und sei ehrlich und offen mit Ihnen. Du wirst sehen dass wenn du dies tust du mehr zurück bekommst als du jemals erwartet hast. Erinnere dich daran das dies deine Brüder und Schwestern sind und keine Konkurrenz.

Hey our friend

Wow we had a crazy and wonderful week. On top of the normal weekly ministry times and tasks we had a team from China with us. They joined us in praying over our neighborhood and they also learned how they can impact the business community more with Jesus. One of the team members just became a Christian and prayed for the first time. It was a powerful testimony of the faithfulness of our father. We also had an old friend of ours come by for a visit which was amazing. During the weekend 2 couples which are good friends of ours got married. To get to both of the weddings involved a lot of driving since one of them was in Santa Barbara, but it was totally worth the drive seeing them start their lives together before God. And weddings are always a lot of fun too.

This week we will have a team from Washington that will help out at the boys and girls club to bless them. Please keep them and the people we reach out to in your prayers this week. Pray for salvations and bigger breakthroughs in their lives. Also pray for an extra boos of energy for me and Jen. Thanks friend.

5 Billion people missing

When I woke up this morning I was spending some one on one time with God which is always wonderful and refreshing. He started to speak to me about His children and how he loves each one of them. When He started to share about that it made me think about how well I do in loving His children? God’s heart is to see all his children come back to Him. It’s not his heart to judge any of them without Jesus as a middleman.  Through Jesus all He sees is freedom since Jesus took on all of our and there sin to the cross and brought redemption. So how can we have a part in that plan to bring those children back to their father? Let’s look at the 3 examples Jesus gives in Luke 15. First he talks about 100 sheep and one of them got lost. He lets the 99 stay in safety in the open country just to search all night for the lost one. The same happened in the next parable with the coin. The woman in the story doesn’t give up till she found the missing coin. And then the famous story of the prodigal son. The son dishonors the family, spends all his inheritance and brings shame on himself as well as the family. What is the fathers reaction when he comes home? He runs towards him, hugs him and puts beautiful clothing on him and throws a party since he is so happy that his son is back.

We see in all 3 of those stories that it takes an action of either searching or going towards them. So our job is to find the people that don’t know Him and bring the good news to them. But it is important to not judge them because we see something wrong in their life, no but we have to show them that they are missed in the Kingdom. If a person truly feels that they are missed and loved they get a feeling of belonging, and that is what God wants to give them, a belonging to His Kingdom. And it talks about in Romans 2.4 that His kindness leads people to repentance. So think about ways how you can help 6 of your neighbors , coworkers, friends etc. experience God in this way. By doing this you bring more of Heaven to Earth and that is a really good thing.

Wow was für eine volle und wunderbare Woche. Neben unserer normalen Arbeit hier hatten wir ein Team von China zu Besuch. Sie beteten mit uns zusammen über unsere Gegend und lernten wie sie die Geschäftswelt mehr für Jesus erreichen können. Eine Person wurde Christ am Tag zuvor und betete an diesem Tag zum ersten Mal für andere. Dies war ein Zeugnis von der Stärke und Liebe unseres Gottes. Letztes Wochenende heirateten dann noch 2 gut befreundete Pärchen. Um an beiden Hochzeiten teilzunehmen mussten wir eine lange Fahrt unternehmen da eine der Hochzeiten in Santa Barbara war. Aber es hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt dabei zu sein wenn diese beiden Pärchen ihr Leben zusammen mit Gott begannen. Und Hochzeiten machen auch immer viel Spaß.

In dieser Woche haben wir ein Team von Washington das uns mit der Arbeit im Boys und Girls Club hilft um ein Segen für diese Arbeit zu sein. Bitte bete für die Teilnehmer als auch die Leute die wir hier in der Gegend erreichen. Bete für größere Durchbrüche in ihren Leben als auch das die, die Jesus noch nicht kennen, Ihn finden. Bitte bete auch für extra Kraft für Jen und mich. Vielen Dank!!

5 Milliarden Menschen werden vermisst

Als ich heute Morgen aufgewacht bin verbrachte ich einige Zeit alleine mit Gott, was jedes Mal wunderbar und erfrischend ist. Er sprach zu mir über seine Kinder und wie Er jedes einzelne von Ihnen liebt. Nachdem Er zu mir sprach dachte ich darüber nach wie gut ich seine Kinder liebe? Gottes Herz ist das all seine Kinder Ihn finden. Er möchte keines seiner Kinder ohne Jesus als Mittelmann richten. Wenn er uns durch Jesus richtet sieht er uns als freie Menschen, da Jesus alle unsere Sünden ans Kreuz genommen hat und dadurch Freiheit gebracht hat. Aber was können wir tun um diese Kinder zu ihrem Vater zurückzubringen? Lass uns 3 Beispiele die Jesus in Lukas 15 gibt anschauen. Zuerst spricht er von 100 Schafen von welchen eines verloren ging. Er lässt die 99 Schafe zurück in Sicherheit und sucht nach dem einen Schaf die ganze Nacht bis er es gefunden hat. Das Gleiche passiert mit dem Beispiel der Münze. Die Frau in der Geschichte gibt nicht auf zu suchen bis sie Münze gefunden hat. Und dann die berühmte Geschichte des verlorenen Sohns. Der Sohn entehrt die Familie, gibt sein ganzes Erbe aus und bringt Schande über sich und die Familie. Was ist die Reaktion des Vaters bei seiner Rückkehr? Er rennt auf den Sohn zu, drückt ihn und zieht ihm neue Kleider an und veranstaltet dann eine Party zur Feier das sein Sohn zurück ist.

Wir sehen in jeder der 3 Geschichten das jedes Mal jemand handelt entweder durch suchen oder durch ein auf die Person zugehen. Unser Job ist es die Menschen zu finden die das Evangelium noch nicht gehört haben und ihnen die Gute Nachricht zu bringen. Aber es ist wichtig das wir sie nicht verurteilen weil wir Dinge in Ihrem Leben sehen die falsch sind. Anstelle dessen müssen wir Ihnen zeigen das sie im Königreich Gottes vermisst werden. Wenn ein Mensch fühlt das Ihn jemand vermisst und Ihn liebt bringt dies ein Gefühl des Dazugehörens. Gott möchte ihnen genau dieses Gefühl geben, das sie zu seinem Königreich gehören. Und in Roemer 2.4 spricht Paulus davon das Gottes Güte uns zur Umkehr bringt. Denke darüber nach wie du 6 Nachbarn, Arbeitskollegen, Freunden usw. erreichen kannst so dass sie Gott so erleben können. Wenn du dies tust bringst du mehr vom Himmel in diese Welt und das ist eine wirklich gute Sache!!
