How was your week?

A week with extra time for prayer is always wonderful and that’s how this last week was. Prayer walking, praying for people or different things going on in the world or praying for our neighborhood and neighbors gives us each time a greater understanding of Gods heart and love for us and others. It also connects us so much more with our father in heaven which is always amazing. Thank you also for your prayers for us,  we felt many times how the prayers of you and others for us made a difference in our life. Set a regular time in your day to connect with God through prayer! Also please email us if you have any prayer requests we can pray for you.

As we said in the video blog above spend time to read the short book of Titus and be inspired!

Wie war deine Woche?

Eine Woche mit extra Zeit für Gebet ist immer eine super Woche und unsere letzte Woche war genau so eine. Gebets Märsche, für Menschen beten oder für Dinge die in der Welt vorgehen oder mehr lokal für unser Wohngebiet und unsere Nachbarn gibt uns ein besseres verstehen für Gottes Herz und seine Liebe für uns und andere. Gebet bringt auch immer eine tiefere Verbindung zu unserem himmlischen Vater. Vielen Dank auch für deine Gebete für uns, wir sahen so oft wie deine und die Gebete anderer einen Unterschied in unserem Leben machten. Plane jeden Tag eine feste Zeit für deine Verbindung mit Gott durch Gebet ein!! Schreib uns auch eine E-Mail wenn du ein Gebetsanliegen hast, wir beten auch gerne für dich!!

Wie wir im Video oben gesagt haben, vergiss nicht das Buch an Titus zu lesen. Lass dich durch diesen Brief von Paulus inspirieren!

How are you?

This week we got to spend time over a lunch with an older friend from the neighborhood. It is always so special to hear about his life and how everything looked like when he was young and also see the world through his eyes of poetry. One of the big things in loving others is listening to them. We want to encourage you this week to listen to a neighbor and their heart.

Also don’t forget to ask God this week what he wants you to keep from generations before and what to get rid of!

Wie geht es Dir?

In der letzten Woche hatten wir die Gelegenheit zusammen mit einem älteren Freund Mittag zu essen. Es ist jedes Mal so spannend und interessant von seinem Leben zu hören und wie die Welt aussah als er jung war. Es ist immer spannend Dinge durch die Augen von anderen zu sehen und in diesem Fall auch durch seine Gedichte. Eines der großen Dinge um andere zu lieben ist ihnen zuzuhören. Wir möchten dich diese Woche ermutigen einem Nachbarn zuzuhören und dadurch diesen besser zu verstehen.

Vergiss diese Woche auch nicht nicht Gott zu fragen welche Dinge von deinen Vorfahren du behalten sollst und welche du loswerden solltest.

How are you?

Our vacation was wonderful. We feel refreshed and also really enjoyed the snow, something we don’t really get in San Francisco. After we got back, I started to pray and prepare for a message for an online service in Germany. Pray with me that God will put the right words in my mouth when I record it this week and that everyone who watches it will be encouraged and inspired. Thank you so much!!

And as we we saw in the video above in Timothy and maybe our own life that not all of us had fathers that taught us about God. That is why spiritual fathers are so important. Ask God in prayer and yourself who you could be a spiritual son to and then ask if they could adopt you in that way!

Wie geht es dir?

Unser Urlaub war super. Wir fühlen uns erfrischt und genossen den Schnee, etwas wo wir in San Francisco nicht sehr oft bekommen. Nachdem wir zurückkamen fing ich an zu beten um mich für eine Predigt für einen online Gottesdienst in Rohrdorf vorzubereiten. Betet dafür das Gott mir die richtigen Worte in den Mund legt, wenn ich das Video dafür aufnehme. Betet auch dafür das jeder der es anschaut ermutigt und inspiriert wird. Vielen Dank!!

Und wie wir im VIdeo oben sahen das Timotheus und vielleicht auch Du nicht unbedingt einen Vater hattest der dich über Gott unterrichtet hat. Dies ist der Grund wieso geistliche Väter so wichtig sind. Stelle Gott und dir die Frage wer ein Glaubens Vater fuer dich sein kann und dann frage diese Person ob sie dir helfen kann im Glauben zu wachsen!

[:en]The book of Nehemiah is right after the time of Ezra and he is also going back to rebuild but he rebuilds the city. But Nehemiah was in a different job position then Ezra, he was a governor, a political leader. Be inspired by the video introduction into the book and of course then by reading it too!!

 [:de]Das Buch Nehemiah beginnt kurz nach der Zeit von Esra. Nehemiah geht auch zurück zum wieder Aufbau, aber er baut die Stadt wieder auf. Er hatte auch eine ganz andere Berufs Berufung wie Ezra, er war ein politischer Leiter. Seit ermutigt durch den kurzen Einblick im Video und dann durchs eigene lesen.

Wir sind im Urlaub deshalb gibt es kein neues Update.

Aber auch ohne Update sind wir weiterhin auf unserer Reise durch die BIbel (siehe oben). Und wie du in Nehemiah gesehen hast, gebraucht Gott Menschen in verschiedensten Positionen. Er möchte auch dich gebrauchen.

[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

Our tip for this month is to research the history of your neighborhood! Watch the video with some tips on that!

We hope you had a wonderful first week in 2022. We are excited for the things God will do this year. One of the things we will start doing in February is having a monthly love your neighbor conversation. We will talk each month with each other on zoom about how we can love our neighbor better and talk about challenges we face in that and how we can overcome them. Stay tuned for details!!

On that note don’t forget to do this month’s love your neighbor tip and research the history of your neighborhood! If you haven’t, watch the video with some tips! It will help you to understand your neighborhood a lot better!

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!
