He was the first prophet that came to the post exilic community. A big part of his message was for repentance from apathy. May this book speak to you!

We hope you had a wonderful Easter. What did you do for it?

Our Easter week here was full of wonderful times with people. If It was with a brunch, a Easter egg hunt with moms and children or our wonderful church service were I got to share part of my story (Markus), it was so wonderful to connect with so many individuals. People are the most important thing for God (like we see clearly on Easter) so let them be the most important thing (right after God) for us.

Also dont forget the video blog and Hagai and ask God this week if there is any apathy in your life and then give it to him and let him heal you in that area!!

Gott sandte diesen Propheten als die Menschen in einer Apathie/ Gleichgültigkeit zum Glauben lebten. Er war der erste Prophet der in der zu den Menschen nach dem Exil kam. Ein großer Teil seiner Nachricht war die Nachricht des Umkehrens von Apathie. Möge dieses Buch zu dir sprechen!!

Wir hoffen, du hattest ein wunderschönes Osterfest. Was hast du gemacht?

Unsere Osterwoche hier war voller wunderbarer Zeiten mit Menschen. Ob bei einem Brunch, einer Ostereiersuche mit Muettern und Kindern oder unserem wunderbaren Gottesdienst, wo ich einen Teil meiner Geschichte (Markus) erzählen durfte, es war so wunderbar, mit so vielen verschiedenen Menschen in Kontakt zu treten. Menschen sind das wichtigste für Gott (wie wir an Ostern ganz klar sehen) lasst sie das auch (gleich nach Gott) für uns sein.

 

Vergiss auch nicht den Video Blog von Haggai und stelle Gott die Frage ob du Apathie/ Gleichgültigkeit in deinem Leben hast und gib diesen Bereich an ihn ab und lass dich von ihm heilen.

First we want to wish you a blessed Easter!! We hope you had some time this week to reflect on what Easter and the good news mean to you personally.

Last week Caleb had his birthday and it was a wonderful time. Jen got cupcakes to take to the park to celebrate with the Moms and children she build a community with in this last season. It’s a blessing for both sides. Where are you connecting with people? Have you had a chance to build a community with them?

In our Story to think about Zecheriah talked about a humble King. Lets ask ourself how we can live more humble like Jesus!

Zuerst wünschen wir dir frohe und gesegnete Ostern! Wir hoffen das du diese Woche Zeit hattest um ein wenig darueber nachzudenken was Ostern und die gute Nachricht davon fuer dich ganz persoehnlich bedeutet.

Letzte Woche hatte Caleb Geburtstag und es war eine wundervolle Zeit. Jen hat Cupcakes fuer eine Feier im Park fuer die Muetter und Kinder mit denen sie in der letzten Zeit eine Gemeinschaft aufgebaut hat. Es ist ein Segen für beide Seiten. Wo kommst du mit anderen in Verbindung? Hattest du die Gelegenheit, mit ihnen eine Community aufzubauen?

In unserer Geschichte zum Nachdenken ging es darum wie Sacharija von einem demütigen König sprach. Lasst uns uns selber die Frage stellen wie wir mehr demütig wie Jesus leben können!

How are you?

We had a wonderful week!! Our new schedule enabled us to have more times of prayer as well as being able to connect with people more spontaniously. It is wonderful. It takes some adjustment and planning to do all the office work in a bit less then 1 day but God is helping us in that. If God is calling you into something new he will help you along the way, you don’t have to do it on your own. God makes a way were it seems impossible (remember Moses and the red sea).

Also dont forget to spend time with God to get his perspective and his true heart on things!! You will be blessed!

Wie geht es Dir?

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche hier! Unser neuer Wochenplan ermöglichte es uns mehr Zeit im Gebet zu haben und mehr spontan mit Menschen in Kontakt zu kommen. Es ist wunderbar. Wir mussten einige Anpassung machen um die gesamte Büroarbeit in etwas weniger als einem Tag zu erledigen, aber Gott hilft uns dabei. Wenn Gott dich zu etwas Neuem aufruft wird er dir auf dem Weg helfen, du musst es nicht alleine tun. Gott macht einen Weg, wo es unmöglich erscheint (erinnere dich an Moses und das Rote Meer).

Vergiss auch nicht Zeit mit Gott zu verbringen und bekomme seine Perspektive und sein wahres Herz für Situationen!! Es wird ein Segen für dich sein!

[:en]Only 4 more blogs till the end of our journey through the bible and this time we have the only prophet that had royalty ancestry. His great grandfather was king Hezekia. His role may have also played a big role in bringing revival to the nation with finding the torah again during his time. Be inspired and encouraged by this prophet!

How are you?

During our time in Jamaica we saw more and more how God gifted certain nations in certain areas, in Jamaica it is definitely prayer. For many years the church had days of prayer and fasting and not just a small group would show up, no but many people. The church of Jens “Jamaican Dad” has probably participate over 100 people on an average Tuesday to pray and fast for 4 hours. And it is amazing to see how much of an impact God made on this island through that and how many people came to know him over the years, but not just that the people that spend more time in prayer with him are also having a closer relationship with him. Over this last season God was speaking to us more about the importance of prayer and fasting and to increase that in our own life and that time really confirmed that. We also want to encourage you to join us in increasing prayer in your life.

After reading through Zephaniah spend some time praying and asking god for revival in todays time. Ask God for your role in that!!

 [:de]Nur noch 4 Blogs bis zum Ende unserer Reise durch die Bibel! Dieses mal haben wir den einzigen Propheten der einen adligen Hintergrund hat. Sein Ur Großvater war König Hiskia. Seine Propheten Rolle hat unter Umständen auch zur einem Revival in Israel geführt da zu seiner Zeit auch die Torah wiedergefunden wurde. Möge dich das Buch dieses Propheten inspirieren und ermutigen.

Wie geht es dir?

Während unserer Zeit in Jamaika haben wir gesehen, wie Gott verschiedene Nationen in bestimmten Bereichen mit Gaben gesegnet hat und in Jamaika ist es definitiv das Gebet. Viele Jahre lang hatte die Kirche Gebets- und Fastentage und es kam nicht nur eine kleine Gruppe, sondern viele Menschen. Die Gemeinde von Jens „Jamaikan Dad“ hat über 100 Menschen im Durchschnitt die dienstags zum Beten und fasten kommen, für 4 Stunden. Und es ist erstaunlich zu sehen, wie viel Einfluss Gott dadurch auf dieser Insel hatte und wie viele Menschen ihn im Laufe der Jahre kennengelernt haben. Aber nicht nur das, nein die Menschen die mehr Zeit im Gebet mit ihm verbringen haben auch eine engere Beziehung mit ihm. In dieser letzten Zeit sprach Gott mehr zu uns über die Wichtigkeit von Gebet und Fasten und hat uns damit ermutigt uns mehr Zeit dafür zu nehmen und diese Zeit in Jamaica hat dies wirklich bestätigt. Wir möchten auch dich ermutigen dich uns anzuschließen und dir mehr Zeit fürs beten und fasten zu nehmen!

Nachdem du das Buch Zefanja gelesen hast verbringe ein wenig zeit darüber für Revival in der heutigen Zeit zu beten. Frage Gott auch was deine Rolle darin ist!

[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

We hope you had a good week!! We are still gone to visit Jens “Jamaican Dad”. During her growing up years her and her family did a lot of mission work in Jamaica and through that this Jamaican family became family. He also officiated parts of our wedding. He is in his 90s now and we wanted to make sure he gets to meet Caleb. We are excited for this time and what God has in store for it.

Don’t forget to find out your neighbor’s birthday and then to call them on their special day!!

 [:de]Wieso ist es wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Wir hoffen ihr hattet eine gute Woche!! Wir sind weg, um Jens „Jamaican Dad“ zu besuchen. Als Kind war sie mit ihrer Familie oft zu Missionseinsaetzen in Jamaica und dadurch wurde die Familie dort auch ihre Jamaikanische Familie. Er hat auch Teile unserer Trauung vollzogen. Er ist jetzt in seinen 90ern und wir wollten, dass er Caleb kennenlernt. Wir freuen uns auf diese Zeit und was Gott damit vorhat.
