[:en]From childhood on, we heard the famous story of Jonah and the fish. He is one of the really famous prophets. But he ran away from his calling because he actually didn’t want God to have compassion on that town. It also showed that God’s compassion is not exclusive for Israel but also for others! May by reading this book we have more compassion for people.

Markus and Jen[:de]Seit unserer Kindheit hörten wir wahrscheinlich die Geschichte von Jona und dem Fisch. Er ist einer der sehr bekannten Propheten. Aber er rannte von Gott und seinem Auftrag da er nicht wollte das Gott Gnade für die Stadt zeigt zu der er gehen sollte. Es zeigte auch das Gottes Gnade nicht nur fuer Israel ist sondern er auch Gnade fuer andere Voelker hat. Mögen wir durch das lesen dieses Buches mehr Gnade wie Gott für Menschen haben.

[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

Our tip for this month is to take chicken noodle soup to a sick neighbor! Watch the video with some tips on that!

This week we are gone for a vacation that’s why there is no update. But join us this week and moth with our love your neighbor tip to if you hear about a neighor being sick to bring a chicken noodle soup or something else over to them. Showing love and the soup together is a perfect setup for quick healing!

Markus and Jen[:de]Wieso ist es wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Wie geht es dir?

Diese Woche sind wir im Urlaub deshalb gibt es kein Update. Aber seit diese Woche mit dabei beim Liebe deinen Nachbarn Tip in dem du dich umhörst ob irgendein Nachbar krank ist und dann eine Hühnernudelsuppe oder etwas anderes vorbeibringst. Liebe und die Suppe zusammen, ist ein perfektes Setup für eine schnelle Besserung!

[:en]I love how the name Obadiah in Hebrew means worshipper and he worships god by following the things God calls him to do. He came as a prophet to share for one part a message to the Edomite’s, who were enemies of Israel for a long time. Again another man who follows Gods calling on his life. May the book speak to you.

How are you?

Our week in San Francisco was again super rainy but again God made ways to still meet up with others. We had a wonderful meeting about how to teach and inspire people in prayer walking with our friend from Kentucky with hospitality matters. It was a wonderful time. We got to go on a prayer walk together in our neighborhood and God held back the rain for most of the time. Have you done a prayer walk in your area? Jen also celebrated her birthday this week and got to go out for a dinner with a friend. Again lots of rain was in the forecast for that time but God blessed her for the whole time they were out with no rain. I love that!!

Also spend time this week to think about the book of Obadiah and what stuck out to you in how he followed God.

Er kam als ein Prophet der Gottes Nachricht zu einem Feindes Stamm von Israel brachte. Wieder ein Mann der Gottes Berufung in seinem Leben folgt. Möge dieses Buch zu dir sprechen.

Wie geht es dir?

Unsere Woche in San Francisco war wieder super regnerisch, aber Gott hat uns wieder Wege gegeben uns mit anderen zu treffen. Wir hatten ein wunderbares Treffen mit unserem Freund aus Kentucky von Hospitality Matters zum Thema Gebetsmarsch und wie wir andere dazu ermutigen und ausbilden können. Es war eine wunderbare Zeit. Wir konnten zusammen einen Gebetsmarsch in unserer Nachbarschaft machen und Gott hielt den Regen die meiste Zeit dafür zurück. Hast du in deiner Gegend schon einen Gebetsmarsch gemacht? Wenn nicht und du vielleicht nicht weißt wie, sende uns eine E-Mail und wir helfen dir damit zu starten!!

Jen feierte diese Woche auch ihren Geburtstag und ging mit einer Freundin zum Essen. Wieder war viel Regen für diese Zeit vorhergesagt, aber Gott segnete sie für die ganze Zeit mit Trockenheit. Ich liebe das!!

Nimm dir diese Woche auch Zeit, um über das Buch Obadja nachzudenken und darüber wie er Gott nachgefolgt ist.

Hello our friend

First of all we wish you a happy new year! It rained a lot in San Francisco this week, but somehow God made it so that the rain didn’t stop us to meet with others, in some way it always stopped the days and times we met with people. The only time we had to deal with the rain was on our way to dinner to a local friends house. Isn’t that great!! God makes a way. Let it also encourage you for this new year that God will also make a way for you where it may seem impossible!

Don’t forget this year that God sees you and is with you in good and bad times!

Zuerst einmal wünschen wir dir ein gesegnetes neues Jahr! Diese Woche hat es viel in San Francisco geregnet aber irgendwie hat es Gott so eingerichtet das es für fast alle Termine mit Menschen nicht geregnet hat. Das einzige Mal wo wir mit dem Regen kämpfen mussten war auf dem Weg zu einem Abendessen mit einer Freundin aus unserer Wohngegend.  Ist das nicht super!! Gott macht einen Weg. Lass dich auch davon für dieses neue Jahr ermutigen das Gott auch einen Weg für dich macht wo es vielleicht unmöglich aussieht!

Vergiss auch dieses Jahr nicht das Gott dich sieht und bei dir ist in guten und schweren Zeiten!
