[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

First of all we want to wish you a happy and blessed first of Advent week!! The first candle symbolizes hope which is something so important in every area of our life. Spend some time this week to think about true hope only God can bring.

If I would have to title this week I would call it the week of the meetings. All of the meetings were good and productive which is wonderful. I really love those times to be able to help others but also get help and advice from others. It is such a blessing to walk with others and also see all the different giftings God gave each of them and us in use.

Also as mentioned in our monthly love your neigh or tip, lets bring some joy this Christmas season by singing Christmas carols with neighbors at a nursing home or senior center

 [:de]Wieso ist es wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Hallo Freunde

Zuerst wünschen wir dir eine schöne und gesegnete erste Adventswoche!! Die erste Kerze symbolisiert Hoffnung, die in jedem Bereich unseres Lebens so wichtig ist. Nehmen dir diese Woche etwas Zeit, um über die wahre Hoffnung nachzudenken, die nur Gott bringen kann.

Wenn ich diese Woche einen Titel nennen müsste, würde ich sie die Woche der Meetings nennen. Alle Meetings waren gut und produktiv, was wunderbar ist. Ich liebe diese Zeiten in denen ich anderen helfen kann, aber auch Hilfe und Rat von anderen bekomme. Es ist ein großer Segen, mit anderen zu gehen und auch zu sehen, wie all die unterschiedlichen Gaben, die Gott ihnen und uns gegeben hat, zusammen in Gebrauch sind.

 

Verggest auch nicht unseren monatlichen Liebe deinen Nachbarn Tip und lasst uns in dieser Weihnachtszeit ein wenig Freude bringen indem wir zusammen mit Nachbarn Weihnachtslieder im Seniorenheim singen!

How was your Thanksgiving? We hope wonderful!!

Thanksgiving is such a special day to celebrate with family. But being family doesn’t have to be limited to people that are related by blood. It can be people that are neighbors, friends, church community and many others that can be included in that. When I look at our thanksgiving table that is exactly what I am seeing. I see a friend from the service industry, neighbors and others we know in the neighborhood. And we have to say we are thankful for all of them. Our blood family being far away doesn’t mean that we don’t have family here. We have it through each of them. Are you having family like that in your neighborhood? If not, let’s get started and build relationships with your neighbors, so next year you do. If you need help to get started, we would love to help you get started. Wie geht es Dir?

Feiertage wie Thanksgiving, Weihnachten etc.  sind besonderere Tage, die man mit der Familie feiern kann. Aber die Zugehörigkeit zur Familie muss sich nicht auf Menschen beschränken, die blutsverwandt sind. Es können Menschen dazu gehören wie Nachbarn, Freunde, Gemeindemitglieder und viele andere die darin einbezogen werden können. Wenn ich um unseren Thanksgiving Tisch schaue sehe ich genau dies. Ich sehe einen Freund aus der Dienstleistungsbranche, Nachbarn und andere, die wir in der Nachbarschaft kennen. Und wir müssen sagen, dass wir für sie alle dankbar sind. Die Tatsache, dass unsere Blutsfamilie weit weg ist, bedeutet nicht, dass wir hier keine Familie haben. Wir haben es durch jeden von ihnen. Hast du so eine Familie in deiner Nachbarschaft? Wenn nicht, fang heute noch damit an mit deinen Nachbarn Kontakt aufzubauen so das du auch diese Familie hast. Falls du etwas Hilfe und Ideen brauchst um zu starten würden wir dir gerne helfen. [:en]If you missed last week here is a little intro to our series:I love how God is the God of redemption. Over this next season we will talk more about that through our new Series on Redemption. We will start off with some of the why and also some Redemption in the Old Testament, then move into the Christmas story, then a bit into Jesus’ life here on earth and then go towards Easter with everything that happened around that time. After watching each of the videos we want to encourage you to think about how God wants to partner with you to bring His Redemption to people in your neighborhood, workplace, school etc. Be inspired and encouraged through this Series. This week we are talking about how God brings Redemption of Circumstances for his people in the Old Testament. You can read the stories in the whole old testament.

First of all we want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving! We hope you are going to have a wonderful time with family and friends! Thanksgiving is one of the celebrations were food and great conversations are so plenty. We are excited for a wonderful time with our neighbor friends and are so thankful for each of them. What are you thankful for this season?

Also let’s spend some time thinking about (watch video blog on top) where we mainly ask God for deliverance from circumstances and then forget about him in our own life? Let us ask Him to help us grow in our relationship with Him in all circumstances!

Nachdem du dir das Video jede Woche angesehen hast, möchten wir dich dazu ermutigen darüber nachzudenken wie Gott mit dir zusammenarbeiten möchte, um den Menschen in deiner Nachbarschaft, am Arbeitsplatz, in der Schule usw. seine Erlösung zu bringen. Lasse dich durch diese Serie inspirieren und ermutigen. Diese Woche geht es um die Erlösung von Umständen wie Gott es mit Israel im Alten Testament oft gezeigt hat. [:en]I love how God is the God of redemption. Over this next season we will talk more about that through our new Series on Redemption. How are you?

We hope you had a wonderful week! One of the things I do every week is to join a zoom prayer meeting with different people from our church. Its always wonderful to pray together for things going on in our city, neighborhoods and the world. We also had a really encouraging meeting this week which affirmed a lot of the direction we are going. In the coming week we start to plan for our Thanksgiving meal which will be a lot of fun. Wir hoffen das du eine super Woche hattest!! Eine Sache die ich jede Woche mache ist ein Zoom Gebets Meetup. Wir beten mit mehreren Gemeindemitgliedern zusammen für Dinge in unseren Wohngegeneden unserer Stadt und der Welt. Wir hatten diese Woche auch noch ein anderes ermutigendes Meeting welches die Richtung bestätigte in die wir gehen. Was gibt es bei dir neues? Schreib uns ein kleines Update!

How are you?

Caleb and I sadly had some health setbacks this week and didn’t recover fully yet as we hoped for. The sickness seems to really hold on and not wanting to leave. Please keep praying with us for its soon departure!  I was able to keep working on things from bed and could join meetings also that way which was a blessing. Jen has been the best nurse for both of us during that time.

I don’t know if you saw the blog we wrote a wall ago or heard but the Founder of YWAM Loren Cunningham passed away at the beginning of October. Last night they had a beautiful Celebration of life for him that was so encouraging and inspiring. Wie geht es dir?

Caleb und ich hatten diese Woche leider einige gesundheitliche Rückschläge und haben uns noch nicht vollständig erholt, wie wir es uns erhofft hatten. Die Krankheit scheint sich wirklich extra gut festzuhalten und wollte noch nicht gehen. Bitte bete weiterhin mit uns für ihre baldige Abreise! Ich konnte vom Bett aus weiterarbeiten und konnte so auch an Besprechungen teilnehmen, was ein Segen war. Jen war in dieser Zeit für uns beide die beste Krankenschwester.

Ich weiß nicht, ob ihr den Blog gesehen oder es anders gehört habt, aber der Gründer von YWAM Loren Cunningham ist Anfang Oktober verstorben. Gestern Abend wurde eine wunderschöne Lebensfeier für ihn gefeiert, die so ermutigend und inspirierend war. Wir möchten dich ermutigen die Aufnahme davon anzusehen und dich inspirieren zu lassen, wie Gott diesen Mann benutzte, um viele, viele Leben zu berühren, einschließlich Jen und meines!
