Our story today is about a man named Gideon, the man who knocks down idols! You can read his story in Judges 6!
Hi our friend
How are you?
Connecting with others is always a blessing and this week was full of them. Jen and I both got to connect with people at different times during the week and we both just loved it. When we spend time with others we get to hear different perspectives and see a different side of Gods heart through others since he made each of us unique. Spend some time this week with others, learn from each other and be encouraged!!
Caleb also brings a lot of joy to us every week. He just recently started to laugh which is awesome. We just love this little boy.
At the beginning of the blog you got to watch the video of Gideon. I love the story of Gideon and his heart for God and how he got rid of that idol. Ask yourself this week what idols God wants you to knock down in your life!
The book of Judges tells stories of Israel after they moved into the promised land. It talks about many hero leaders that God is using to free his people. Our video Blog gives you a short intro into that. Be encouraged.
Hi our friend
How was your week?
An exciting week here in San Francisco ended with a wonderful block party our church did next to our local park. With a live band inside and kids area outside it was a fun time for everyone. It’s a great way for people to come together and to connect with the neighborhood as a church. Think about if that would be something you could do with your church to connect with people in your community.
And how we saw different people in the book of judges leaning on God for everything, now its your turn to ask God to show you areas in your life where you have to lean on him more so he can use you in greater ways.
When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us. And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!
Our tip for this month is to invite your neighbor to something you are already doing! Watch the video with some tips on that!
Hi our friend
How are you?
We hope you are doing super well friend. Our week in San Francisco was great with many connections with people. All of us need that connection and relationships. That is actually an area where each one of us can be the answer for. Connect this week intentionally with 3 of your neighbors and also with the theme of the week, don’t forget to invite them to something you are already doing like going to the public pool!
Today I want to share with you a few nuggets out of the books of Corinthians. I love those letters since they give in such a simple way many foundations for many life areas! Be encouraged!!
Hi our friend
All of us need community us included. And over the years we started to build it in different places like our neighborhood, YWAM and our church. One of them as an example is our church small group and we just have to say we love our church small group. It’s always so wonderful to connect with each other (still on zoom) and encourage each other. Our group is small but everyone became family to each other. This happened over time not in a moment. But its time well spend! We want to encourage you to invest time into relationships with people in your church, your neighbors and maybe work colleagues. It will take some effort on your side first but the blessing you and everyone involved gets out of it outweighs all of that! Start today
Also don’t forget to read the book of 1.-2. Corinthians and let Holy Spirit show you what things are important from it for your life right now!
