A love your neighbor tip: Listen

Today I have a love your neighbor tip for you in the video. Listen! Be inspired.

Hello our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week.

Since Caleb started school, we have a new daily routine. Either both of us or Jen bringing him to school. When we get there, we get to see all the other parents who also drop off their children and often end up in conversation with each other. It is an automatic build in way to connect with parents from our neighborhood on a regular basis. What routines do you have to connect with neighbors and others from your community? Maybe going to the local grocery store? Think about it and make it a point connecting with others!!

Also a reminder from the video: Practice this week active listening with a friend. Listen and ask questions. If your mind wanders off write down the things that distract you.

God bless you

Markus, Jen and Caleb

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week!!

Since Caleb is in school Jen and I got more time to meet and talk more about the next season and what God has in store. There are so many things to do and to invest time in, but we want to make sure to really hear God clearly on what he has for this season. Keep us in your prayers for clarity.

We hope you’ve been inspired by Samuels story. Ask God if you are called to be a recruiter to recruit people to go to other places to share the good news!

Have a blessed week

Learning from Leaders: 3 Leader 3 different life outcomes

Today’s video is about the first three kings of Israel and what the outcomes were at the end of their lives!
You can read their story in 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 1 Chronicles, and 2 Chronicles 1–9. Be encouraged.

Hello our friend

We hope you are doing great!

Wow what a week!! We had so many times to connect with our communities. Monday we had a big labor day bbq which was a lot of fun. Our apartment was full of neighbors and joy. It was so great seeing how everybody had such a wonderful time connecting with each other and also some to meet each other for the first time. Later in the week we had another event in which we just participated. It was a dinner from Calebs school. It was put on so parents could get to know each other more. We got to interact and get to know different parents. It was wonderful. Doing things that bring people together is really important to build community. We want to encourage you to brainstorm how you can create a place where people can connect with each other and through that create more community where you are!!

A little action step at the end:
As I said in the video, please ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you stand, and ask Him to help you change so that you live more like David.”

God bless you

Markus, Jen and Caleb

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week and a relaxing labor day!!

Caleb had his first day of school this week. He really enjoys his school. Its wonderful too that we get in touch with so many other families when dropping Caleb off and get to know them more. The school also already had the first social event so the parents could connect even more. Its such a new and exciting season for all of us and we are excited for all the new relationships that will form! Thank you Jesus

It was also wonderful that we had friends from my hometown in Germany come for a short visit this week. Its always special seeing friends from my old home.

We hope you’ve been inspired by Amys story. Ask God if you are called to youth how you can make a difference in their lives?

Have a blessed week

Learning from Leaders: Joshua

Today’s video is about Joshua and what we can learn from his leadership! You can find the the story of Joshua in the book of Deuteronomy and Joshua.

Be encouraged

Hello our friend

We hope you had a great week!

Once a year our church is hosting together with other churches a time of worship called the Sound. Its in the middle of the biggest park in the city, golden gate park right in between an art museum on the one side and a science museum on the other. Right there many Christians from the city come together and praise and worship God for 4 hours. It’s an amazing time. There is something so special when believers come together united with one heart to worship God. Maybe think about if that would be something that you could do in your area. Think about an area where you could do something like that in your town and then chat with different churches and ask them to join. Each church can lead a worship set and each church can help take on part of the planning. It will not just have the opportunity to bring churches together but it will also show others what Jesus was saying: By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13.35. If you feel God nudging you to do this when you read this, start praying and planning!!

At the end a few things to take away from Johua about leadership: As a leader don’t forget to get into his word and think about it all the time. Also always spend time with him and let him fill you. And be strong and courageous and trust that he is with you. Always look at him and let him lead you.

God bless you
