A resolution that will stick

Today’s video is about a way that a resolution can stick. Be encouraged and inspired!

Hello our friend

We wish you a blessed and happy new year!! We hope you had a wonderful start into it!

On New Years Day we baked a few German New year Brezels for some neighbor friends which was a lot of fun. It was a great way to bless our friends with a German new years tradition. Think about how you can bless your neighbors this year and then do it!! Depending when you read this you have about 360 days’ time to do that!

Here is also a quick step by step reminder from the video on how to reach the goal.

  1. set a goal that you are actually excited about: I want to run 15 miles by the end of the year.
  2. Then make it a clear goal that can be measured: goal is being able to run 15 miles by the end of the year.
  3. Then break down the goal in small junks: 1st month week 1 walk 1 mile, week 2 walk a little faster, week 3 jog the mile, week 4 run the mile. Do that for every month.
  4. Then make sure to look back and see how things are going and if you see something isn’t working think about why and make adjustments: I wasn’t able to walk in week 3 cause I had meetings all of those nights I planned to do it, so I moved it to different nights.
  5. Have someone that you can share with about your progress and who can encourage and challenge you.

By the end of the year you will look back and can say that you actually reached the goal!

Now the 3 goals I would like for you to set are:

  1. Set a daily bible reading time. Start a yearly plan on Youversion bible that fits the amount of time you want to read. If you want to read it together with a friend and write each other what spoke to you about the things you read
  2. Have a daily prayer time. Connect with Jesus personally and also let him speak to you through the scriptures you read. Also spend time to pray for others around you!
  3. Put into practice what Jesus called us to do: Love your neighbor! Do something every week were you build and deepen your relationships with your neighbors and that shows them that they are loved. If you need weekly tips follow us on Instagram: Loveyourneighborsf or on facebook: L-y-n

When you start doing that you will look back and notice how much closer you got to Jesus and your neighbors during the year and how your love for others increased!!

God bless you

All new!

Today’s video is about the verse of the year 2026 in Revelation 21.5. Be encouraged

Hello our friend

First we want to wish you a blessed and happy new year!

Last week we had a wonderful Christmas celebration with some of our neighbors. I cooked a special German meal, we sang a Christmas song and watched the Chosen Christmas Episode  The Shepards together. It was so great celebrating with our neighbor friends. How was your Christmas and what did you do for it?

I also hope you got encouraged by the video about the verse for the year: Behold I am making all things new… Revelation 21.5 . Make sure to spend some time remembering this verse when you got through this new year!

God bless you

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” John 13.35 ESV

Hi Friends

We first want to wish you a blessed and merry Christmas. We hope you feel encouraged by the message of the video about John 13.35.

Also if you have time watch the The Chosen Christmas Episode about the birth of Jesus.  Be encouraged and blessed by it!!  https://watch.thechosen.tv/video/184683594479

Love goes through the stomach

Today’s video is about showing your neighbor love. Be encouraged and inspired!

Hello our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week!

Like I talked about in the video, we were just able to bless about 100 neighbors with a brownie and a Christmas card. For about 2 days we baked, packed them up and then delivered them. So many people were so excited some even expressing how they are excited about this every year. We want to encourage you to do something small for your neighbors. Instead of 100 brownies bake something for 2 or 3 of your neighbors and bless them through it this week!!

God bless you

Gospel Carriers: John Flynn

This weeks Gospel Carrier is a man from Australia who had a heart for isolated communities in his country. Be inspired by his story.   If you want to read more of his story the book Christian Heros then and now John Flynn into the never never is a great way to do that!

Hi our friend

We hope you are having a wonderful Advent Season. When you light the second candle for the second Advent spend some time to think about Jesus the Prince of Peace.

We had a good week in San Francisco with multiple special events. We celebrated our annual YWAM Christmas party. It was so nice spending time together with the whole YWAM Family from the bay area. Jen got honored that night for being with YWAM San Francisco for 15 years. Time goes so fast!!! Before we had our neighbor brunch on Saturday we celebrated with Caleb Nikolaus (a german tradition where you fill the shoes of the child with fruit candy and a toy) and he was so happy finding the gifts in his shoe. We also told him in the days leading up the story of Saint Nicholas (I made a video about him last year its under this link if you want to hear more). Our neighbor brunch was also wonderful as well. We always get into so many good conversations.

We also hope you got inspired through todays Gospel Carrier John Flynn. Is God calling you to an isolated Community in your country? If ask him how you can meet a practical need there, become a true friend and share the good news with them!!

Have a blessed week

Markus, Jen and Caleb
