How are you?

Our vacation was wonderful. We feel refreshed and also really enjoyed the snow, something we don’t really get in San Francisco. After we got back, I started to pray and prepare for a message for an online service in Germany. Pray with me that God will put the right words in my mouth when I record it this week and that everyone who watches it will be encouraged and inspired. Thank you so much!!

And as we we saw in the video above in Timothy and maybe our own life that not all of us had fathers that taught us about God. That is why spiritual fathers are so important. Ask God in prayer and yourself who you could be a spiritual son to and then ask if they could adopt you in that way!

Wie geht es dir?

Unser Urlaub war super. Wir fühlen uns erfrischt und genossen den Schnee, etwas wo wir in San Francisco nicht sehr oft bekommen. Nachdem wir zurückkamen fing ich an zu beten um mich für eine Predigt für einen online Gottesdienst in Rohrdorf vorzubereiten. Betet dafür das Gott mir die richtigen Worte in den Mund legt, wenn ich das Video dafür aufnehme. Betet auch dafür das jeder der es anschaut ermutigt und inspiriert wird. Vielen Dank!!

Und wie wir im VIdeo oben sahen das Timotheus und vielleicht auch Du nicht unbedingt einen Vater hattest der dich über Gott unterrichtet hat. Dies ist der Grund wieso geistliche Väter so wichtig sind. Stelle Gott und dir die Frage wer ein Glaubens Vater fuer dich sein kann und dann frage diese Person ob sie dir helfen kann im Glauben zu wachsen!

[:en]Our story today is about Paul and Silas and how they didn’t give up, even with big challenges, in bringing the gospel to the Thessalonians. Be inspired!!

Hi our friend

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas!! We for sure did even if it looked different again this year. Our Christmas day lunch with our neighborhood friend was wonderful. We had a nice meal together and it felt a bit like grandpa came over for Christmas. We also got to connect with our families through video calls which was also amazing!

2021 comes to an end in just a few days. When we come to the end of our year we always spend time to reflect and looking back at the things God did. God gave us Caleb, we hosted love your neighbor workshops, launched a love your neighbor social network just to name a few things. But with all the good during the year there are also challenging moments for all of us, like for us especially not being able to connect with people in the usual way cause of Covid. Reflect on those with God too and let him give you new perspective. Jen and I also spend some time at the end of the year to get words for the new year from God and look back at the old ones. When we do that we always get encouraged by how faithful he is. Let him speak to you and give you words for your new year too!!

Like Paul and Silas in the story above ask God in this new year where he wants you to bring the gospel. And also start into the year 2022  with the knowing that you are amazing and loved!!

[:de]In unserer heutigen Geschichte geht es um Paulus und Silas und wie sie nicht aufgaben, selbst mit großen Herausforderungen, das Evangelium zu den Thessalonichern zu bringen. Sei inspiriert!!

Hallo unser Freund/in

Wir hoffen du hattest ein schönes Weihnachtsfest! Unseres war schön selbst wenn es dieses Jahr auch wieder anders aussah. Unser Weihnachtsessen mit einem älteren Freund aus unserem Wohngebiet war toll. Wir aßen ein gutes Essen zusammen und es fühlte sich wie Familie an da der ältere Mann wie ein Opa zu uns ist. Wir konnten auch mit unseren Familien Video Telefonieren was super war!

2021 ist in wenigen Tagen vorbei. Wenn wir am Ende des Jahres ankommen verbringen wir immer Zeit über das alte Jahr zu reflektieren und damit auf die Dinge zu schauen die Gott getan hat. Gott schenkte uns Caleb, half uns Love your Neighbor Workshops zu veranstalten, ein Sozial Netzwerk zu starten um nur einige wenige Dinge zu nennen. Aber mit all den guten Momenten gab es auch schwierige und herausfordernde Zeiten, für uns z.B. nicht mit Nachbarn wie früher zusammen zu kommen wegen der Corona Situation. Reflektiere über die guten und schwierigen Zeiten mit Gott und bitt ihn dir seine Perspektive in all diesen Dingen zu geben. Jen und ich verbringen auch immer etwas Zeit am Ende des Jahres um Gott für Worte für das neue Jahr zu fragen und auf die alten zurückzublicken. Wenn wir dies tun werden wir jedes Mal wieder darin ermutigt wie treu Gott ist. Lass Ihn zu dir sprechen und frage ihn nach Worten für dein neues Jahr!

Vergiss auch nicht Gott zu fragen wie Paulus und Silas wo du das Evangelium hintragen solls im Jahr 2022. Starte das  neue Jahr mit dem Wissen das du wunderbar und geliebt bist!!
