We hope you had a wonderful week!

This last weekend was really special. I got to be part of officiating the wedding of a young man and his now wife. I technically met him first when he was a child and I helped with a day program at a church in his neighborhood, but dont remember that. Then about 12 years ago by that time he was grown up we connected through a mutual friend and I have been meeting with him regularly talking about questions he had about God and life and just general things. He became a wonderful friend over all those years. 2 month ago I was at his ordination ceremony of him becoming one of the Pastors at the church we had the day camp at. And Saturday I got to share the sermon at his wedding. I love how God works!! With that I want to encourage you that if God puts someone in your life who He is calling you to invest in do it!!

 

One reminder from the video at the end: Ask Jesus for strength through the Holy Spirit to love your enemies. Start to pray for them and ask Jesus to show you His heart for that person.

We hope you had a wonderful celebration of Jesus resurrection during last Easter weekend and the week leading up to it!! I was greeting at church that Sunday and we had so many people come visit from all over who were visiting San Francisco. All of them wanted to be at church to celebrate that special day. But lets all remember that all year around that Jesus is alive!!

Wir hoffen, dass ihr am vergangenen Osterwochenende und in der Woche davor eine wunderbare Feier der Auferstehung von Jesus hattet!! Ich habe an diesem Sonntag in der Kirche die Menschen begrüßt, und es kamen so viele Besucher aus aller Welt, die San Francisco besucht haben. Sie alle wollten an diesem besonderen Tag in der Kirche sein und feiern. Aber lasst uns das ganze Jahr über daran denken, dass Jesus lebt!!

Last week I got to have lunch with a new friend from the city and we got to share with each other about how God changed our lives. Its so encouraging to hear testimonies of how people found Jesus. Each story is different and unique. Ask a fellow believer for their testimony and share yours and be both encouraged!!

Wir hoffen das du eine tolle Woche hattest!

Letzte Woche hatte ich die Gelegenheit, mit einem neuen Freund aus der Stadt zu Mittag zu essen, und wir konnten uns gegenseitig davon erzählen, wie Gott unser Leben verändert hat. Es ist so ermutigend, Zeugnisse darüber zu hören, wie Menschen Jesus gefunden haben. Jede Geschichte ist anders und einzigartig. Frag doch einmal einen anderen Jesus Nachfolger nach seinem Zeugnis und teile auch deins – und lasst euch beide dadurch ermutigen!

We hope you had a wonderful week!

It was so great being part of celebrating one of our neighbors last Sunday. He created an email list years ago and sends out emails with questions or things that are going on, in our specific area. He helped people to connect or share things that someone might not need anymore and someone else would really love to have. Jen and I benefited from this list multiple times by asking for a specific item like a lamp and neighbors reaching out to us with that. But that aside I love that he got recognized and encouraged in what he does. Are there people in your neighborhood that are a blessing to many? If so think about a way to recognize them, even if its just through a simple thank you or a little gift.

One reminder from the video at the end: Ask God for help when you come into a moment of temptation. Also make sure to walk away from the situation. And don’t forget if you fell in that area ask for forgiveness and receive the grace of Jesus!!

Wir hoffen das du eine tolle Woche hattest!

Es war so schön, letzten Sonntag Teil der Feier zu Ehren eines unserer Nachbarn zu sein. Er hat vor Jahren eine E-Mail-Liste ins Leben gerufen und verschickt darüber regelmäßig Nachrichten mit Fragen oder Informationen über Dinge, die in unserer unmittelbaren Umgebung passieren. Dadurch hat er Menschen geholfen, miteinander in Kontakt zu kommen oder Dinge weiterzugeben, die jemand nicht mehr braucht, über die sich aber jemand anderes sehr freuen würde. Jen und ich haben selbst schon mehrmals von dieser Liste profitiert, indem wir nach bestimmten Gegenständen – zum Beispiel einer Lampe – gefragt haben und sich Nachbarn bei uns gemeldet haben. Aber unabhängig davon liebe ich es, dass er für das, was er tut, gesehen und ermutigt wurde.

Gibt es Menschen in eurer Nachbarschaft, die für viele ein Segen sind? Wenn ja, überlegt euch doch eine Möglichkeit, sie wertzuschätzen – selbst wenn es nur ein einfaches Dankeschön oder eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit ist.

Zum Schluss noch eine Erinnerung zum Video: Bitte Gott um Hilfe wenn du in eine Versuchung kommst. Entferne dich von der Versuchung. Vergiss nicht falls du in die Versuchung verfallen bist um Vergebung zu bitten und Jesus Gnade zu erfahren!

We hope you had a wonderful week!

In the last season Jen put Caleb to sleep at night. That gives me most evenings about 45 mins to just go out on a walk and listen to worship music and also pray. Its always such a refreshing time. Sometimes during those times God opens up short opportunities to have a short conversation with a neighbor friend and bring a short encouragement. I love it when He does that.

You see it doesn’t necessarily need extra time to love your neighbor you can just do it while you are going on a walk around your neighborhood anyway!! If you don’t go on walks around your neighborhood yet, I highly encourage you to do that!!

One reminder from the video at the end: Ask God to search your heart and show you who you have to reconcile with and ask for forgiveness. Then take the fist steps towards them and do it!!

Wir hoffen das du eine tolle Woche hattest!

In der letzten Zeit hat Jen abends Caleb ins Bett gebracht. Dadurch habe ich an den meisten Abenden etwa 45 Minuten Zeit, um spazieren zu gehen, Lobpreismusik zu hören und zu beten. Es ist immer eine sehr erfrischende Zeit. Manchmal öffnet Gott in diesen Momenten kurze Gelegenheiten für ein Gespräch mit einem Nachbarn, um ein kleines Wort der Ermutigung weiterzugeben. Ich liebe es, wenn Er das tut.

Du siehst, man braucht nicht unbedingt extra Zeit, um seinen Nächsten/Nachbarn zu lieben – man kann es einfach tun, während man sowieso einen Spaziergang durch die Nachbarschaft macht! Wenn du noch keine Spaziergänge durch deine Nachbarschaft machst, möchte ich dich sehr ermutigen, damit anzufangen!

Zum Schluss noch eine Erinnerung zum Video: Bitte Gott dir dein Herz zu zeigen und die mit denen du dich noch versöhnen musst und um Vergebung zu bitten. Dann mache die ersten Schritte auf die Person zu!!
