Chaos in the living room

Chaos in the living room, Find out more in this week’s video blog!

Hi our friend

How are you?

This week was special in the way that we had many unplanned connections that were really encouraging. Running into people in the park, the grocery store or just on the street was such a blessing. Sometimes the best conversations happen in moments like this. We want to encourage you to allow time for spontaneous connections with people!!

Also remember this week to keep your eyes on God in the midst of everything!!

God bless you

Stories to think about – Jude brother of the most famous man

Our story today is about Jude a man who was the brother of a very famous man. Be encouraged by Him!

Hi our friend

How are you?

Our Staff Retreat was wonderful! We were at a retreat center in the middle of the forest which was wonderful. It was such a time of refreshment, learning, praying for each other and reconnecting. Caleb had a wonderful time too and made many friends who he played with a lot. We are so thankful for our YWAM Family and for the fact that we are able to show Jesus together to people in different parts of the city and the bay area. What a blessing.

Don’t forget this week to ponder on these questions from the story about Jude: who is Jesus to you in your life? Is he the one for everything?

God bless you

A journey through the bible the book of Isaiah

This week we are meeting a prophet on our journey, the prophet Isaiah. God often send prophets to encourage his children to change and to come back to him, but also to share the consequences with them if not. God’s heart is always for redemption and it is so beautiful seen in this book. Be encouraged.

Hi our friend

We hope you had an awesome week!! Our family was out for our annual YWAM Bay area staff retreat last week and stayed in the area after for a few extra days. That’s why there is no weekly update this week. But next week we are back!

Spend some time time this week thinking about the things in Isaiah that spoke to you while reading it!

God bless you

Here is the Love your neighbor monthly tip – Cook a meal for someone who just had a baby or goes through a hard time

Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

Our tip for this month is Cook a meal for someone who just had a baby or goes through a hard time! Watch the video with some tips on that!

Hi our friend

How are you?

During meetups with different people we saw again how important community is. Many, especially in cities, got more isolated during the circumstances of the last years. We noticed that some even see being isolated and away from others being as normal. But by actively pursuing individuals and loving on them we can bring hope and community. It can be something simple as a phone call or a dinner together that can bring change. We want to encourage you to think about neighbors and others in circles that might be isolated and start reaching out to them. The great thing about doing that is that not just they are blessed but you are blessed in return too.

Which actually goes perfect together with our monthly challenge to cook a meal for a neighbor in need, but instead of just cooking it lets eat together with them (the video doesn’t mention the situation I mentioned above so add that one in there J ). So be a blessing this week!!

God bless you

A journey through the bible the book of Jude

Jude a brother of Jesus wrote a guidance letter to his students. May it teach you too!

Hi our friend

How was your week?

We had a wonderful week in San Francisco. Our highlight so was our first Love your neighbor conversation meetup and it was wonderful! The participants were giving good feedback and it was a good first time. We are excited to see how God will use this time of conversation and questions to encourage and equip people in loving their neighbor. Join us in one of the future ones! The next one is august 26th at 5pm PST.

Spend some time this week and read the book of Jude and think about how it applies into today’s time!

God bless you
