It’s amazing how God uses all different kinds of people to be prophets. In the case of Amos, he chooses a sheepherder to bring the message. May the words of the book of Amos speak to you when you read it.
Hi our friend
How are you?
It doesn’t matter what rank or status you have, all that is needed is a yes to God. Are you ready to partner with God and where is he asking for a yes from you?
Our story today is about Amos, Shepherds and the Christmas story. Be encouraged!
Hi our friend
First of all we wish you a blessed and merry Christmas! May this time be a real blessing to you!!
For Jen and me the last week was definitely the week of Christmas celebrations. Between the two of us we went to 5 of them. The great thing about celebrations is that you often see people that you don’t know that well yet and you get the chance to get to know them better just by having a longer conversation. Last week we encouraged you with our love your neighbor tip to have some kind of celebration for christmas with your neighbors. Did you get a chance to do that? If not you still have a few days for a time to get together!
Also dont forget how the Christmas story and Amos show how every person is important to God! Remember that!!
When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us. And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!
Our tip for this month is to Celebrate new year’s eve with neighbors! Watch the video with some tips on that!
Hi our friend
We hope your week was wonderful! This week was a baking time in our house. We baked about 100 brownies packed them up to be delivered along with our Christmas card to neighbors, contractors, delivery drivers, local places etc. While handing them out they put so many smiles on faces and lead to some wonderful conversations. Maybe think about baking something for your neighbors and people that are part of your neighborhood this week and bless them through it this Christmas season!
Also join us in this month with the love your neighbor tip from the video. Start to talk to your neighbors now what they do for new years eve and then plan to do something together that night!
On our bible journey we saw many prophets. God always sends prophets because he loves his people and wants them to come back. The same is true for Joel as well. So be inspired while reading this book.
Hi our friend
How was your week? Our time in Pennsylvania was wonderful. We had a lot of time with family and for the first time in 11 years we were there for a family Thanksgiving. It was such a special time celebrating together. It was so wonderful seeing everyone again in person after over 3 years. Our Gathering we had was also a great time. We got to see other friends that we haven’t seen at all the other places and could share about what God is doing in SF. The only problem with the trip was that Time just went by too fast.
Also looking at our bible journey and the book of Joel ask yourself these questions:
How did you see God reach out to his people through Joel so they would turn back to him? How do you think you can share his unconditional love with people you know and live around?
Our story today is about Daniel and about how he didn’t hide his faith. Be encouraged by his faith!
Hi our friend
How are you?
We are in PA right now with family so there will be no update here. But we hope you got to enjoy this weeks story to think about!! And as an inspiration out of that, make sure to not hide your faith in the places you are in. God wants to use you!!
