Humility opens the door

This weeks video blog is about a story from John 4 and how a door was opened through humility. Be inspired!

Hi our friend

How are you? We hope wonderful!

During our last week Caleb caught a cold which then limited us a bit especially with connecting with families in the park. But we were able to connect with others and get other things done that needed  to get done which was a blessing. We were also able to spend extra time with Caleb inside the house which he felt really blessed about. Also all of us felt we got a bit of extra rest through the situation. Yes it was first a bit frustrating that we couldn’t do the things we planned but then God turned the frustration into a blessing for all of us. One thing I want to encourage you with this week is to always look for the good in every situation. It’s easy to find the negative and let that lead to frustration and have your full focus on that. But what if we instead of looking at that look at God and let him help us to focus our eyes on the good? When you do that it will change your perspective and also puts your focus on God. I love that in the Psalms how David even in the hardest situations tried to keep his focus on God and his goodness. Lets all do that too!!

Also don’t forget to connect with your neighbors by humbly asking for help!

God bless you

Here is the Love your neighbor monthly tip – Give something cold to drink to garbage collectors or the mail carrier

Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

Our tip for this month is give something cold to drink to garbage collectors or the mail carrier! Watch the video with some tips on that!

Hi our friend

How was your week? We hope you had a wonderful one. The sun showed up more regularly in the last week which was wonderful. That was wonderful since the building our church usually meets at wasn’t available and we got to meet for a time of worship in the beautiful sunshine in the park. We also got to meet up with friends in San Francisco who started recently a prayer house. It’s a real blessing for our city to have one again! Also, check your inbox for our newest newsletter which just went out last Friday!! If you didn’t get it and would like to, send us a quick email and we will add you to the list!

Also don’t forget something cold to drink is a wonderful thing in the hot summertime! So bless your garbage collectors and mail carrier with something cold!!

God bless you

No matter the cost

This weeks video blog is about a story in the book of Daniel which is as relevant today as it was then. Be inspired!

Hello friend

We hope you had a good Pentecost and Memorial Day Weekend. Pentecost is such an important day to celebrate since it is the day when the Holy spirit came to the disciples. The good news is as he was with them then, so is he with us today. He is our guide in a world full of uncertainty. Let him guide you too!

We had a good week in San Francisco. I had more time with Caleb this week as Jen was preparing training for a summer retreat. We look forward to this time and the opportunity to encourage more children in their relationship with Jesus as well as in loving their neighbors. Caleb started singing for the first time this week and of course his favorite song the wheels on the bus go round and round!

As the 3 in Daniel trusted God totally no matter what it cost them, let us ask God for such faith and his Holy Spirit to give us strength to do this too!

Have a blessed week

Markus, Jen and Caleb

Hi our friend

How are you?

Our week was full of wonderful moments. Jen and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. A friend watched caleb so we went for a few hours to a beautiful lighthouse looking at the pacific. The anniversary made me think of the fact how important it is to celebrate special days and remember them. When you look through the bible you see so many holidays that were celebrated and each one was a way to remember something God did. We want to encourage you to celebrate special days in your life too and with that remember the goodness of God.

Also dont forget this week to bless your neighbor and have fun by walking your neighbors dog!!

God bless you
